Bid by B.B. King’s daughter to get medical records denied
LAS VEGAS (AP) — A court in Las Vegas denied a bid by one of B.B. King's daughters to obtain the late blues icon's medical records from an executor who she alleges mishandled her father's treatment before he died. Probate Commissioner Wesley Yamashita told a lawyer for Patty King on Friday that she can subpoena the records, so he didn't need to issue a court order. The lawyer for B.B. King's estate told the judge that he thinks Patty King is fishing …

B.B. King Did NOT Die From Poisoning
The accusations of B.B. King’s daughters trolling for more inheritance money have seemingly been proven accurate.
A Las Vegas coroner told Rolling Stone that 89-year-old simply died from natural causes on May 14 with Alzheimer’s disease being the “primary contributing factor.”
Shortly after the well-traveled musician’s death, daughters Karen Williams and Patty King alleged that manager LaVerne Torey and his longtime assistant Myron Johnson kept their father ill in order to expedite his passing. Just like the previous claims, lawyer Brent Bryson slammed them for their outlandish lies.
“It is unfortunate that Mr. King’s body had to be subjected to a needless autopsy based upon fictional assertions,” Bryson said in a statement. “As expected, the autopsy report confirms that Mr. King died as a result of natural causes, and not as the result of poisoning or other wrongful conduct by Louise LaVerne Toney, Myron Johnson or anyone else. Both Ms. Toney and Mr. Johnson are happy that the spurious and disparaging allegations made by certain of Mr. King’s children against them, have been dispelled. Perhaps we can now focus on the body of musical work Mr. King left the world and stop the ‘witch hunt’ so that Mr. King may now finally rest in peace.”
Ms. King and Ms. Williams will have to live with their measly $ 3,000 inheritance settlements, unless they want to whittle it down on conducting an independent autopsy.

B.B. King’s death strikes mournful chord for musicians, presidents
Guitarist Eric Clapton remembered the B.B. King album that inspired him as a young musician and Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton recalled the thrill of performing with the “King of Blues.” Musicians, politicians and blues lovers around the world on Friday expressed sorrow over the death of the blues legend on Thursday night at the age of 89, and their gratitude for the legacy he left. Clapton, one of the music world’s most influential guitarists, thanked King for inspiration, encouragement and friendship over the years. “He was a beacon for all of us who love this kind of music and I thank him from the bottom of my heart.” Clapton encouraged people to find the 1965 album called “B.B. King Live At The Regal,” saying it was “where it really started for me as a young player.” Obama, who calls the blues mecca of Chicago his home, remembered how he sang “Sweet Home Chicago” with King at a White House blues concert three years ago.

Blues legend B.B. King, 89, mourned by music world
Blues legend B.B. King, whose crisp, powerful guitar licks made him among the instrument's greatest masters and a towering influence for generations of musicians, has died at 89. King until late last year, when his health declined, maintained a touring schedule that put much younger artists to shame. "The blues has lost its king, and America has lost a legend," said President Barack Obama, who recalled once being persuaded to sing "Sweet Home Chicago" at the White House with King. "There are not many left that play it in the pure way that B.B. did," said rock-blues guitarist Eric Clapton, who thanked King in a short video that was receiving nearly one million views an hour on Facebook.
