With his millions of die-hard online followers and impressive media reach, seventeen-year-old Lucky Blue Smith (yes, that’s his real name) is arguably the year’s biggest male model. Smith’s musical talents and platinum hair may have won him an adoring following, but he’s far from the only pretty face in his household. Sisters Pyper America, Starlie Cheyenne, and Daisy Clementine are not only Smith’s bandmates in the surf-rock quartet The Atomics, they’re also budding models actively building impressive careers of their own. Meet the Smith women and find out how fashion’s new take on the Partridge Family is adjusting to life in the spotlight.
Though she’s been working for only a few months, several top-tier photographers (including Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott) have already shot Pyper America, whose white-blonde hair and lanky frame bear the strongest resemblance to her famous brother—a fact not unnoticed by the likes of Moncler, which recently tapped the pair to star in its dramatic Annie Leibovitz–lensed Fall campaign. Traveling to Iceland for the shoot provided a healthy dose of fun, one that Pyper describes as her favorite modeling experience thus far. Playing bass and singing backup in the family band provides an additional creative outlet.
As the eldest Smith sibling and lead singer of The Atomics, the raven-haired Starlie Cheyenne is a little different than her siblings—but that suits her just fine. Though comfortable in front of the camera, Starlie is driven by her lifelong passion for music, recalling the moment the band’s first single dropped as the high point of her whirlwind year. “I cried when we finally saw it on iTunes—so exciting,” Starlie shares. A fan of red lips and a well-done cat eye, Starlie’s retro allure seems destined to attract the attention of photographers just as interested in her looks as her music.
It all comes back to Daisy Clementine: The first Smith sibling to be signed to an agency, at only 14. Two years later, she brought her family along to visit her Los Angeles agency, where the entire clan was subsequently signed. Daisy’s girl-next-door beauty has already garnered her attention from West Coast clients, but her family’s newfound success has given her a chance to see the whole world. “Being able to see places I have read and dreamed about in real life is pretty surreal,” says Daisy. So is a family this comely.
