‘Power’ Recap – Season 5, Episode 2: Damage Control

Power Season 5 Episode 2

Source: Starz / Starz

On the latest episode of Power, the St. Patrick Family hasn’t properly grieved Raina. Over the course of 3 weeks, the family dealt with death, revenge, and the need for damage control.

They hope to alleviate the impact of Raina’s murder, but those unaddressed feelings finally erupted. Tasha mourns Raina daily with an abundance of tears and regret, while Ghost silently suffers (and attempts to call Angela for comfort). Tasha needs an outlet to channel her grief, but Ghost is apprehensive and doesn’t want to invite others into his business. During the counseling session with other grieving parents, Ghost discourages Tasha from sharing their experiences, causing a rift between the two. Even more tension is generated when Councilman Tate ambushes the St. Patricks with a press conference to speak about Raina and his community endeavors.

Tommy’s piss poor management skills reared its ugly head in multiple ways this episode. Jason Mitic returns to demand Tommy replace the product lost when the Jiminez burned down the warehouse and hijacked drugs from the now lost NYC port. Mitic drafts Ghost and Kanan as complicit partners to recoup his lost drugs. Tommy also has to answer for the Italian hitters being killed by Dre. Tommy decides to be as forthcoming with Vincent and to ask forgiveness, claiming that he took care of the uber. Sammy, Teresi’s right hand man, lied on Tommy’s behalf and punched him in the grill to say “I’ll never lie to them about you again.” Tommy continues to paint himself into impossible corners with brute force techniques to feel more exclusive.

Love & Hip Hop Hell: Nikki Mudarris Causes $30K Worth Of Damage At Mally Mall’s Crib [VIDEO]

When the inaugural season of Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood ended, both Mally Mall and Nikki Mudarris appeared they were singing “IDFWU” to each other. Obviously their relationship has a resume button because Nikki Mudariss was recently hauled off by police officers and she destroyed all the good china.

Via TMZ:

‘Love And Hip Hop’ stars Nikki Mudarris and Mally Mall’s breakup just went NUCLEAR — he says she went berserk, smashing $ 30k worth of fine china … until the neighbors called the cops, and we got the video.

We’re told Nikki showed up at Mally’s home in Bev Hills Monday night and refused to leave — and took out her rage on the fancy plates … which she claims she bought.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … cops showed up just before 11 PM for a report that Nikki was vandalizing the property. We’re told she cooled down at the sight of badges, but Mally caught her making a quick exit in this video.

Mall didn’t want to press charges on his ex … so cops just escorted her off the property.

Sources close to Nikki say she freaked out because Mally broke her custom made iPhone 6 in a jealous rage days earlier. Since she paid for the china … this seems like the worst revenge ever.

Mally seemed to recover just fine — we got him later that night leaving Ace of Diamonds strip club, where he’d just dropped $ 20k!

The struggle can be viewed in the video below.

Hair Magic, Bottled: 8 After-Sun Products to Make Damage Disappear

Photographed by Mikael Jansson, Vogue, March 2014

The holiday weekend likely found you partaking in a variety of sun-drenched revelry. And while a pre-barbecue slathering of SPF cream may have kept skin hydrated, your hair is a different story. Sea-soaked, pool-dipped, generally exposed lengths are due for a bit of after-sun damage control—and the best restorative hair treatments this season start at the root.

Pre-rinse, reach for a softening scalp and hair oil like Phyto’s Huile D’Alès Hydrating Treatment, which, when left on for 30 minutes before washing, infuses hair with a blend of humidity-proofing castor, sage, lemon, rosemary, and juniper berry oils, or Rahua’s Hair Elixir, which transforms dry strands using a natural nut oil harvested in the Amazon rainforest and used for centuries by local women.

If build-up is the issue, O&M Original Detox Shampoo’s blend of cooling Australian river mint and peppermint oil removes chlorine—making the right conditioner that much more effective. Davines Su Hair Mask can be combed through for a day at the beach to minimize color fading and damage and used afterward to restore with antioxidant Vitamin C and shea butter. For good measure, try a lightweight tonic to smooth the cuticle, whether it’s Rodin by Recine’s addictive alchemic concoction of eight essential oils—apricot, calendula, sweet almond, sunflower, and neroli amongst them—or Fekkai’s Après Soleil Crème. Here, eight products designed to bring parched hair back to life, ensuring good memories and a healthy glow will be the only remnants of a long weekend spent sun-worshipping.

Welp, Skinny Jeans Can Cause Severe Nerve Damage

LONDON (AP) — Attention wearers of skinny jeans: don’t squat — at least not for long.

Doctors in Australia report that a 35-year-old woman was hospitalized for four days after experiencing muscle damage, swelling, and nerve blockages in her legs after squatting for several hours while wearing tight-fitting denims. “We were surprised that this patient had such severe damage to her nerves and muscles,” said Dr. Thomas Kimber of the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia, in an email.

The patient, who was not identified, spent most of the previous day helping someone move, squatting for long periods while emptying cupboards. Clad in skinny jeans, the woman said they felt increasingly tight and her feet were numb as she walked home, making her trip and fall. Unable to get up, she spent several hours stranded outside before getting to the hospital. Kimber and colleagues published a report about the case online Monday in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry.

Kimber said tight jeans have previously been reported to cause nerve lesions in the groin but not the kind of nerve problems in the lower leg and severe muscle damage they saw. He said squatting compressed the nerves in the lower leg, reducing the blood supply to the calf muscles and that the skinny jeans worsened the problem.

After being treated for four days — and having her jeans cut off — the woman still had some weakness in her legs but walked out of the hospital and later recovered fully. Kimber doesn’t know if the woman still wears skinny jeans but warned her against the dangers of squatting in them.

“I think it’s the non-stretchy nature of jeans that might be the problem,” Kimber said, noting that tight pants with more elasticity wouldn’t be as dangerous since they wouldn’t squeeze nerves and muscles. He doesn’t wear skinny jeans himself, but not because of the medical risks: “I’m too old to get away with them!”

Cop Punched By The Game Now Claiming Brain Damage

The Game’s haymaker hands have inserted themselves in a “mo money, money problems situation” stemming from his videotaped technical foul on March 29.

Last week, it was revealed that it was an off-duty police officer who was on the receiving end of the Compton rapper’s fists of fury during an organized basketball game.

Now that cop, Onyebuchi Awaji, is putting his alleged injuries with a dollar amount. You all know how it goes.

Reports TMZ:

The Game is being sued for that punch he threw last month during a basketball game … a punch the victim says may have screwed up his brain.

According to a lawsuit filed Monday, Onyebuchi Awaji — an off-duty rookie cop — claims he did nothing to instigate the March 29th fight with Game.

Awaji claims Game nailed him with a sucker punch that may have caused brain damage.

Not only did Awaji claim Game sucker punched him, he says Game fled the scene as soon as he heard cops were called.

At the time of the fight, sources close to Game told TMZ Game threw the punch out of self-defense, claiming Awaji verbally threatened Game with a gun.

Arson Caused Downtown L.A. Fire That Left $30 Million In Damage

The massive fire in Downtown L.A. that caused up to $ 30 million in damage, and closed down two freeways was set deliberately, officials determined Wednesday (Dec. 17). The DaVinci Apartments were unfinished when all seven-stories burned to the ground on Dec 8.

“The work at the crime scene is finished, however our investigation is not over,” said ATF Special Agent in Charge Carlos Canino, “ATF will continue to work together with our state and local partners to investigate this crime and bring those responsible to justice.”

Investigators sifted through 75,000 square feet of debris in order to rule out any “known potential accidental causes.”

Two potential witnesses are being sought after for questioning. No suspects have been named.

Local and federal authorities will work together to complete the investigation, Los Angeles Fire Department Battalion Chief Robert Nelson said. “We will use all of our available resources to arrest and prosecute any individuals involved in any arson fire in Los Angeles.”
