Uncle Luke Clarifies Funkmaster Flex & DJ Red Alert Comments

Uncle Luke has (sort of) apologized to Funkmaster Flex and DJ Red Alert, in advance. The 2 Live Crew frontman was honored at Friday night’s BET Hip Hop Awards with a Lifetime Achievement Award, and he’s getting ahead of any drama caused by his acceptance speech.

According to Luke, the teleprompter when out, causing him to come off the top of his head during his speech. Apparently, people were misconstruing comments he said about Flex and Red Alert as shots.

However, Luke was adamant that Flex used to break his records in NYC while Red Alert is a good friend, who along with Greg Street gave him the name “Uncle Luke.”

Any questions? Besides, “What did he say?”

See for yourself below. The BET Hip Hop Awards air Tuesday (Oct. 10).

Funkmaster Flex Plays Unheard Fugees Song On Hot 97, Ms. Lauryn Hill Says Its Old

No, it’s not the mid-90s and that headline is very much correct. The Fugees are back, this after Hot 97’s Funkmaster Flex debuted a record featuring all three of the band members.

The record aired live Saturday evneing (July 15) and it sounds like they’re coming to show why they had big respect from MCs and fans alike with their 1996 classic album, The Score. Lauryn Hill opens up the song with lines that show why her pen remains one of the strongest ever.

“This is some dead right sh*t/Sometimes we fight sh*t/Some make up and write sh*t, spark and ignite sh*t,” Hill spits, surely referencing the crew’s public beef and feuds although they’ve worked together since their sophomore and final album.

Pras takes over the second verse, using part of the same pattern Hill used but went into his own style while flexing the strength his pockets a bit. Wyclef Jean anchors the verse with some tough bars and Hill returns to show off a bit of vocalization at the end just as she did between the other verses.

As of now, the title of the song is unknown nor is there any true announcement of a reunion for the New Jersey trio. For what it’s worth, the new track sounds fresh for 2017.

For what it’s worth, the new track sounds fresh and every MC on the track came with the hunger.

Check out the Fugees track below.

UPDATE: Ms. Lauryn Hill came through and crushed the buildings. The artist shared in a tweet that the song is not new.

Bronko – “Flex”

Luom, better known as Bronko, was born in Vietnam during the peak of hip hop culture. His family received a sponsorship to come live in the United States when he turned one, Minnesota happened to be the place to settle. Music has always been an influence to Bronko’s childhood. Growing up, he was raised by his uncle who he considered to be the closest to a father figure. His uncle happened to be in a band as well. Since Bronko was still young at the time, he was only allowed to watch his uncle’s jam sessions, and that was enough to inspire him to write his own music. Bronko was introduced to hip hop when he was six. Listen to his new single “Flex” below.

Funkmaster Flex Leaked More Drake Reference Tracks, Nobody Cares [AUDIO]

During the lead up to Meek Mill‘s return volley to Drake, Funkmaster Flex continued his campaign of questioning the Canadian superstar’s bar credibility. Flex leaked three more reference tracks and the only people who seemed to care are those who cape for Meek or have some hurt feelings over Drizzy being miles ahead in this, ahem, battle.

Flex started his exposure wave after leaking a reference track featuring alleged ghostwriter Quentin Miller last week with the track “10 Bands,” which got folks whispering a bit louder about Meek’s allegations. Flex, in a bid to lend credence to Meek’s claims, added a few more reference tracks to his Soundcloud page Thursday night.

The tracks “Used To,” “Know Yourself,” and “R.I.C.O.” were all posted and curiously pulled from Flex’s Soundcloud in the hours since they were posted. However, swift YouTube users were able to snag the reference tracks and posted them up.

While there was some chatter to the newer reference tracks getting leaked online, along with Flex tweeting like a madman, largely nobody cared and just wanted Meek to drop a hot response. Word on the street is that it’s still Drake far ahead in the lead while Meek is licking his wounds and copping major pleas on social media in the aftermath.

Check out Funkmaster Flex’s leaked If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late reference tracks allegedly featuring Quentin Miller below and on the following pages.

Funkmaster Flex Gets Dragged For Meek Mill Diss Song Pump Fake [Photos]

Funkmaster Flex has one job. After promising to deliver Meek Mill’s response to Drake’s “Charged Up,” Hot 97 listeners were left with absolutely nothing.

Needless to say, the slander aimed against Funk Flex started flowing rapidly on social media. While a petition has been started calling for Flex’s ouster from Hot 97, even more people are perfectly fine hurling slander at the veteran DJ via memes and venomous tweets.

Check out the best below and on the following pages.

Protesters Ask For Hot 97 To Fire Funkmaster Flex

Change.org is usually for boycotts and petitions of a political sort, but tonight it was utilized to demand that Hot 97 fire DJ Funkmaster Flex.

Azeem Khan, Digital Strategy Consultant in New York, is the architect behind the already infamous petition. He told AllHipHop.com exclusively why he started the now-trending topic.

“It’s one thing to be wrong by mistake, but he’s been gassing up this beef like no other. Everything is about clicks. This was straight up lying though. He’s needed to step down for a while now. I didn’t realize it would blow like this, but he should at least see what the fans really want. And that’s to not be lied to,” Khan told AllHipHop. “Everyone was tuned in, and he gave us the best pump fake since Michael Jordan in the 98 Finals. His site already picked it up, and he IG’d it. That just further shows he thinks he’s really just above everyone else. And he’s not.”

The petition has over 4,000 supporters as of this writing and continues to grow. In the petition, Khan outlines his feelings.

There has always been word that DJ Funk Funkmaster Flex was not someone who was willing to give up his position at Hot 97 for his slot. Despite constant critiques from everywhere for the old man to step down, and give the younger people a shot he decided to stay where he was. Last year Dame Dash was at the forefront of the movement saying that Funk Flex really needs to just leave. Well, today was the last straw. This fraud of a DJ decided to lie to everyone for ratings and downloads of the Hot 97 app that Meek Mill would be on tonight to release a diss track to Drake to no avail. No one has given Hot 97 two hours of listening time since Biggie was alive, and it’s a crime to have taken that from us. The people have spoken and it is time for Funk Flex to step down. The Petition

Khan admitted that starting the petition has a very base reason.

He said, “I guess it’s a sense of disappointment on my part. I’m glad I started it because it goes to show I’m not alone on this. And the people deserve to be heard.”

Busted: Funk Flex Leaks Quentin Miller’s Reference Track For Drake’s “10 Bands” [LISTEN]

Quentin Miller’s name went from 0 to 100 in a matter of hours after Meek Mill took it upon himself to introduce him to the world as Drake’s ghostwriter.

Funk Flex has been on some archeological levels digging in the past 24 hours to solve the riddle.

“We gonna get to the bottom of this…,” he wrote on Instagram. “In case we forgot… Big, Jay, Nas, Kendrick, J.cole handle the pen… If your mentioned in that list you know what that means!!! Y’all other radio TV and bloggers watch this close… If he writes himself then he deserves an apology… If he doesn’t write then he’s a fucking FRAUD!!! That means them emotions ain’t his…. That means what u claiming is story book…And if this industry is ok with that I understand stand… But where I fucking come from that’s means you a great record maker but NOT a great lyricist!!!!! There’s a fucking difference if you claiming king!!! Dr Dre never wrote but we love him the same… But there’s a place for that type of rapper!!! You don’t get mentioned with the greatest!!!! So for people who say it doesn’t matter your wrong !!!! To a lyricist it’s everything…. @champagnepapi”

And then, like manna bread from the heaven’s above, Quentin Miller’s reference track for “10 Bands” from the If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late mixtape dropped into the veteran DJ’s lap.

“I got this from someone in Drake’s camp,” Flex said. “They reached out. They saw me keeping it 100.” Quentin Miller allegedly gets paid $ 5,000 a month to be on call to pen the hot fire.

Does this change your opinion of Drake now that Quentin Miller appears to be “The Man?” Sound off in the comment section, por favor.

Funk Flex Releases Reference Track Of Quentin Miller Rapping Drake’s “10 Bands” (AUDIO)

(AllHipHop News) Drake may have some explaining to do. DJ Funkmaster Flex has released a reference track of rapper Quentin Miller spitting “10 Bands.” The track is credited as a Drake song on If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late with Que listed as a co-writer.

Miller was thrust into the limelight last night when both Meek Mill and OG Maco claimed the rhymer was more than just co-writing with Drake. They suggested Miller was Drizzy’s full on ghostwriter. From the sound of Flex’s leak, it appears Meek and Maco were telling the truth.

Funk Flex wrote this on Instagram:

We gonna get to the bottom of this…. Incase we forgot… Big, Jay, Nas, Kendrick, J.cole handle the pen… If your mentioned in that list you know what that means!!! Yall other radio TV and bloggers watch this close… If he writes himself then he deserves an apology… If he doesn’t write then he’s a f*cking FRAUD!!! That means them emotions ain’t his….
