[[tmz:video id=”1_bszome1t”]] Malik Yusef says he was doing work on Kanye West’s behalf to arrange a New York Fashion Week show but it didn’t work out … but it’s definitely not the shady scheme it’s being made out to be. We broke the story … Kanye’s…
In the spirit of Kanye West’s infamous G.O.O.D. Friday series, 5x Grammy Award Winner Malik Yusef releases G.O.O.D. Morning G.O.O.D. Night The “Leaquel,” Unheard & Unfinished Joints. As the title implies, tracks on this project are comprised of leaked material from previous G.O.O.D. Music sessions, and unheard gems from prior releases like Common’s “Nobody’s Smiling,” and “Sin City” off Cruel Summer.
What started out as just a studio album back in 2009 has now transformed into a full-fledged series. The third installment to the now trilogy follows up last year’s summer release of G.M.G.N. Deconstructed, which saw features from Mr. West himself, Big Sean, KRS-One, Adam Levine, GLC, Common, John Legend, Twista & others. The release garnered over 7MM total impressions.
As reported earlier, features on the new mixtape come courtesy of G.O.O.D. Music’s CyHi The Prynce on “We Ain’t Playin’” & producer Travis Scott on “Sin City (Original)” – and others such as Raheem DeVaughn, Chip Tha Ripper, JV, Grande Marshall, Young Savage, Ab-Liva, Black, Kentrell, and YouTube sensations Andrew Garcia, Jay Hayden, The Johnsoton Brothers, Brandon Skeie, J. Rice, Casey Cooper, and new comer Megan Elizabeth. Production duties handled this time around come predominately from Nate “Impact” Jolley & D.Cross, as well as Tommy Brown, Big Duke, Rami, Brian K. Bolton, Kevin M. Cairns, Hit Fluid Blue, KC, Mind Killa, Mizzy Beats, and The 11th Hour.
After nabbing 3 Grammy nominations, label G.O.O.D. Music has decided to celebrate big in Los Angeles, as they host a private affair on February 8 which will feature a mansion brunch in Beverly Hills, an invitation only Grammy watch event and an after party with performances from fellow nominees Antonique Smith, Sonna Rele and Malik Yusef (who has been nominated again after winning 5 out of 15 previous nominations.)
The master songwriter has represented G.O.O.D. Music well, making an appearance on the title rack of Common’s Grammy nominated album Nobody’s Smiling and dropping his well received his G.O.O.D. Morning G.O.O.D. Night [Deconstructed] mixtape.
He also released an official soundtrack to the global climate change movement titled Home, which features artists including Ne-Yo, Common, Antonique Smith, Elle Varner, Candice Glover, Raheem DeVaughn, Ryan McDermott, and more. Presented in part by Yusef’s creation The Private Plane, they were joined by the Natural Resources Defense Council, the Hip Hop Caucus and the People’s Climate Music Coalition to present the celebration.
“We just want to continue building up the momentum. Grammy’s is always a good time of year to show the world what you’ve been working on,” said Yusef.

Before today, the average Hip-Hop fan may have only known about Kacy Anne Hill due to her American Apparel campaign. That should probably change now that Def Jam has announced she’s signing with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint.
The video for Hill’s latest single, “Experience” has been on YouTube since April, and it makes it clear that Hill possesses a pretty impressive falsetto. But other than that, who is Kanye’s G.O.O.D. Music addition? Here are some fast observations from her Twitter and Instagram feeds and her website.
