“Us” is a solid, almost old-fashioned thriller. What it isn’t, notably, is a movie that matches the sky-high expectations raised by writer-director Jordan Peele’s first film, “Get Out,” wildly enthusiastic festival buzz and its slick marketing campaign.
Tory Lanez isn’t the first and certainly won’t be the last recording artist to have his words misunderstood, especially when it comes to someone as revered as the late Tupac “2Pac” Shakur. During a recent interview, the Canadian crooner and spitter seemingly compared Tekashi 6ix9ine to ‘Pac and he obviously caught flack for it.
While sitting down with Tim Westwood earlier this week, Lanez spoke on Tekashi’s legal predicament and how it went down during the very height of his career similarly to 2Pac.
“The only n*gga who had sh*t like that popping was Tupac. When Tupac was in jail he dropped the biggest album. Not to say it was the biggest album of all fu*king time, but it was a pretty big moment. It’s sad he’s gotta be locked up during it, is all I’m saying,” Lanez said, while mentioning Tekashi’s features such as Nicki Minaj and Kanye West.
Fans have been giving Lanez grief over the comment, but he fired back with a not so friendly missive himself.
“I did not compare 6ix9ine to 2 pac … I just said they both dropped big albums from jail at the level of fame that they had . Get off my dick,” Lanez tweeted on Tuesday (Dec. 4).
Welp, that settles that.
With the return of The Diplomats and Dave East putting in his own work, Harlem has more than enough reasons to be feeling good during this holiday season.
Being the proud Harlem native that he is, Dave East decided to give back to the hood that made him who he is, and in his clip to “Wit Me” documented how he went home and blessed the residents of East Harlem with clothes and food before getting in the studio to get busy. Props.

The Black Eyed Peas have really been going hard with their social-political content and their latest video continues to put a shine on today’s injustices and racial bias from law enforcement.
For BEP’s visual to “Get It” the Cali group demonstrates how law enforcement specifically target the Black and Hispanic community while Donald Trump enjoys watching White Supremacists and Trumpians who walk the streets freely. We seem close to living in Purge-ish times for real.
Speaking of which, Troy Ave landed himself a spot on the soundtrack to The First Purge and for his clip to “Uhohhh” he recreates the lawless atmosphere in which the film takes place.

Maybach Music Group representative Gunplay keeps the black and white visuals trend going in his latest clip, “Just Won’t Do” where the Carol City citizen takes a pastor’s advice on the fastest way to get to heaven literally, and gets behind the wheel of a Porsche to make his way to promised land. It’s been a little more than a week since Glasses Malone released his Glasshouse 2: Life Ain’t Nuthin But… LP, so it was only a matter of time before the West Coast G dropped some visuals to help push the project along.
On the clip to “Get Busy” the Watts rapper plays the role of Don King while having a few knockouts of his own train inside of a boxing gym. When he isn’t promoting the two young ladies in training, he and Tyga are explaining just how their women get down. Naturally because we know who his girl is, Tyga’s verse came off a little Jared Fogle-ly.
That said, Tyga has been hard at work as of late with the releases of his own visuals off his Fuk What They Talkin Bout project and today is no different. In “Clarity” the controversial rapper styles on the naysayers while on the deck of a yacht and does his best to demonstrate that though he may come off as materialistic, he’s also cultured and doesn’t mind rapping in an art gallery. Wonder where he got that idea from.
