Typically, it’s awards season’s loudest red carpet. But Sunday night’s Grammys fashion was unusually quiet — and covered up.
Without Beyonce, Rihanna, Taylor Swift or Ariana Grande, who ditched the awards show after creative differences with producers (but wore her Zac Posen gown on Instagram anyway), the diva quotient was down, with only Cardi B’s meme-generating vintage 1995 Thierry Mugler Venus on the half shell look, and Janelle Monae’s sharp-shouldered Jean Paul Gaultier couture minidress to get armchair critics going.
Even Lady Gaga, who famously arrived at the 2011 Grammys in an Armani egg pod, played it relatively safe (she’s a movie star now, after all), wearing a silver, side-ruffle gown by Hedi Slimane for Celine (a no-brainer given that she attended his first women’s ready-to-wear show in October).
Long gone were the nearly nude looks of years past; instead of baring her naval in daring green Versace circa 2000, Jennifer Lopez went with a modest, crystal-embellished mint green Ralph and Russo column gown, and covered her face with a wide-brim hat; Miley Cyrus worked an oversized circa 2019 Mugler suit with a side of cleavage, and H.E.R. was outfitted in a custom Coach purple jacquard jumpsuit.

“Split” was a surprise hit for director M. Night Shyamalan, but its most satisfying gambit came in unexpectedly setting up a sequel to his 2000 thriller “Unbreakable.” The result, “Glass,” isn’t a breakthrough, but proves just clever enough to come out on the right side of a split decision.

CLEVELAND—Noting that there are millions of entrepreneurs throughout the country who are in the same difficult position, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump responded to a question about the economy at Thursday night’s primary debate by sharing an anecdote about meeting a struggling small business owner who isn’t half the man he is. “Last month, I was speaking with John Perkins, a good, hardworking fellow who runs his own grocery store in Waterloo, Iowa, and who, like so many others out there, is a pathetic, small-time loser without a single shred of my business skills,” said Trump, who explained that Perkins’ recent struggles to keep his business afloat are a direct result of his incompetence and total lack of qualifications for the job, adding that Perkins’ “embarrassing rinky-dink operation is peanuts” compared to The Trump Organization. “This bozo has no idea what he’s doing. In fact, he …
Don’t be so quick to dismiss those pre-wedding jitters: A new survey suggests that cold feet could signal marital trouble down the road.
U.K. law firm Slater and Gordon surveyed more than 1,600 divorcés about their wedding days and found that half of them had serious doubts about the relationship before walking down the aisle. Sixty-five percent of those polled admitted they’d even considered going the “Runaway Bride” route and bolting the day of the wedding.
So why’d they go through with it in spite of their doubts? The majority of respondents said they simply thought it was too late to pull out and didn’t want to let their fiancé down. One in 10 polled said they’d spent so much money on the wedding, they couldn’t bring themselves to call it off.
“It’s incredibly common for people to go into marriages with doubts,” Amanda McAlister, an attorney at Slater and Gordon, said in a press release. “There can also be a lot of optimism at the wedding, but this can fade with time.”
The survey may be non-academic but it checks out with recent research. A 2012 study published in Journal of Family Psychology suggested that a bride’s pre-wedding jitters more than doubled the odds of divorce. The researchers also found that pre-marital doubts from either partner was linked with lower marital satisfaction for that partner over time.

Waka Flocka Flame has just gotten a huge look after his new collaboration with Good Charlotte titled “Game On” has been designated to serve as the official theme song for the upcoming summer flick, Pixels: The Movie. The film starring Adam Sandler, Peter Dinklage, Kevin James, Josh Gad and Michelle Monaghan, takes place in the present day but the antagonists are a several 80s video games falling from outer space to destroy the world. It’s actually not as silly as it sounds and the action-comedy scenes were in need of high octane soundtrack, which Flocka and the boys from Maryland bring to the table.
Keeping it line with similar rap/rock fusion records, the Brick Squad leader piles on the video game metaphors while Good Charlotte’s rock riffs excel the track’s adrenaline. Producer KoOoLkOjak also integrated audio effects from the film itself to give the backdrop an 8-bit topping.

Al Madrigal goes on a journey of self-discovery… starting with how to pronounce his own name.
In his new one-hour special “Half Like Me,” premiering on Fusion on January 22, The Daily Show’s senior Latino correspondent travels across the U.S. to discover what it means to be half Mexican and half white.
“Being half has always been confusing,” Madrigal says in the preview for the special. “White people think you’re Mexican and Latinos give me shit about not being Latino enough.”
A Fusion press release states that the special came about because Madrigal — who was raised in suburban California, attended a “preppy” high school, and favors American football — felt conflicted when his father recently “gifted” him Mexican citizenship.
In the trailer for “Half Like Me,” the comedian also goes on to say that his life experiences and inability to speak Spanish led many Latinos to describe him as a “coconut.”
“Basically it means I’m brown on the outside, white on the inside,” Madrigal explains in the clip.
The special follows the star on a quest for identity that many Latinos in the U.S. can identify with. The journey takes him from a family reunion in Tijuana and smoking cigars in Little Havana to some Spanish classes with a group of elementary school kids. He discusses the issue of Latino identity with big names in the community such as Univision’s Jorge Ramos, cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz and columnist Gustavo Arellano.
They also poke fun at him for being unable to pronounce his own name. A frustrated Ramos tries to get Madrigal to make the “rr” sounds in Spanish, with no luck.
News of the special was first announced last year in April. At the time, the network said the hourlong program would premiere before November’s midterm elections.
“I’m delighted to carry on in the tradition of the great reporters like Edward R. Murrow, Ernie Pyle, and Geraldo Rivera to probe vitally important issues of the day, starting with whether I’m Hispanic or Latino,” Madrigal said in the April press release.

What I’m Looking For
I am looking for someone who would be willing to commit to one monogamous, fun, thrilling and secure relationship forever. Is that YOU ??
I'm looking for an ordinary earthman not a prince or a king. It would be nice if he could have a strong personality with own spirit and joy and happiness, with whom we could be best friends and equal partners.
What I’m Looking For
I also like dancing and singing karaoke. Sport and travelling are my passion, so I gladly play beach volleyball and travel around Ukraine with my friends to compete. I love nature and always try to be out to relax and calm down just listening to the rustle of leaves, whisper of the grass blowing on the wind and watching the light flight of clouds. I adore romance and hope I could share my inner world with a beloved man.
