Ben Sherman Inks Partnership with Team GB for 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games

LONDON – British men’s wear brand Ben Sherman has signed a multi-year agreement as an official supporter of Team GB for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games, and beyond. An announcement is expected Monday.
The clothing brand, known for its slim-fitting silhouettes, will create exclusive looks to be worn by the British athletes during the official opening ceremony. It will also create an additional Olympic capsule collection for retail in May 2020. Proceeds from the sales will support British Olympians.
Mark Williams, creative director of Ben Sherman said: “The design elements will hold true to the spirit of the Olympics and Great Britain. We want the athletes to feel an immense sense of achievement and unity while representing the nation during the opening ceremony.”
Cory M. Baker, chief operating officer at Marquee Brands, parent of Ben Sherman, said: “It’s a time to come together with pride and root for the athletes and icons that represent each country. The heritage of Ben Sherman embodies the spirit of the U.K. and gives us the opportunity to celebrate Team GB with amazing designs and fashion pieces.”
Tim Ellerton, British Olympic Association commercial director said, “We are already excited about the designs they have in mind.”

‘Insecure’ Producer Amy Aniobi Inks 2-Year Deal With HBO

Real to Reel Global Youth Film Festival

Amy Aniboi, a co-executive producer for HBO‘s hit series Insecure, has inked her own deal with the cable giant. Her two-year deal will not interfere with her current role with Insecure and has her working alongside Issa Rae on other works.

THR exclusively reports:

The two-year pact will have Aniobi continue as a co-executive producer of Insecure — which is going into its fourth season — and writing limited series The Dolls with her Insecure colleagues Issa Rae (who will also star) and Laura Kittrell. HBO has also put into development Attachment, a comedy series Aniobi co-created and will executive produce; she’ll also develop new projects for the network.

Attachment, produced by Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine, centers on a first-generation Indian-American tech CEO who’s forced to share her tiny New York City apartment with her mother, who’s considering a divorce. The two learn to live with each other — and for themselves.

Aniobi co-created the series with actress and producer Melanie Chandra (Code Black), who will be a consulting producer. Jude Weng (Fresh Off the Boat, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) is set to direct and will also executive produce along with Witherspoon and Hello Sunshine’s Lauren Levy Neustadter.

Aniobi is also in development on three feature-film projects: American Princess at Fox and Bye Bye Bye and Love in America for Universal.

Global Brands Group Inks Licensing Agreement With AllSaints

LONDON — AllSaints, the British contemporary label known for its biker jackets, has signed a licensing agreement with the Hong Kong-listed Global Brands Group to expand its accessories range.
As part of the agreement, GBG will design and distribute men’s and women’s footwear, socks, costume jewelry and cold weather accessories for the brand, starting with the fall 2018 collection. The company plans to distribute the new ranges globally across AllSaints stores and major department stores around the world.
William Kim, AllSaints’ chief executive officer, said that the new deal offers an opportunity to connect with customers across multiple product categories.
Jarrod Kahn, president of accessories and home at GBG, added that the brand’s global appeal offers an attractive opportunity to scale the business through the development of new categories: “With its innovative, contemporary designs and independent spirit, AllSaints is a perfect addition to our strong portfolio of leading consumer brands. As a brand that resonates with consumers globally, we see significant opportunities for growth, and look forward to leveraging our expertise to maximize its potential.”
GBG is part of the Fung Group and manages licensing for several dozen brands including Under Armour, Kenneth Cole, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade New York and Tommy Hilfiger.

EXCLUSIVE: Karl Lagerfeld Inks Denim License With Italy’s Giada SpA

PARIS — Karl Lagerfeld, who has been partial to skinny jeans for more than a decade, is getting his own denim line.
The fashion brand has inked a multiyear license agreement with Italy’s Giada SpA for the production and distribution of its new Karl Lagerfeld Denim collection in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The first collection for men and women is to debut at retail in spring 2019.
“The launch of Karl Lagerfeld Denim is an exciting, high-potential addition to our brand’s diverse product portfolio,” said Pier Paolo Righi, chief executive officer of Karl Lagerfeld. He called Giada a “leading producer and marketer of premium denim production, and we are fascinated by their love for product details. We look forward to working with them to build this business.”
The development comes as the brand is preparing to unveil its revamped men’s wear collection at the Pitto Uomo trade show this week.
The Lagerfeld and Karl Lagerfeld labels have been fused under a single Karl Lagerfeld collection, which is being presented alongside a capsule line curated by the designer’s longtime personal assistant Sébastien Jondeau, as reported.
