Kenneth Cole has joined forces with Broadway’s new musical comedy, “The Prom,” to support human rights of LBGTQI+ people and equality.
The partnership includes a fund-raising initiative for the UN Foundation in support of UN Free & Equal, a global public information campaign of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to promote the fair and equal rights of LGBTQI+ people globally.
“The Prom,” which has been in preview, officially opens Nov. 15. The musical takes place in a small town in Indiana, where a high school student isn’t permitted to bring her girlfriend to their prom. Several actors travel to Indiana to support the girls’ cause.
“We have been supporting social justice and equal rights issues since its inception and specifically for the LGBTQI+ community for over 25 years,” said Kenneth Cole, chairman and chief creative officer of Kenneth Cole Productions. “We’re proud to partner with ‘The Prom,’ not just because it is an extraordinary theatrical production, but also because of the shared values it portrays and the important story of inclusion and acceptance that it brings to life.”
Inspired by the Act 1 finale of “The Prom,” Cole has designed a custom T-shirt which reads, “Today Is Not a
Kenneth Branagh ("Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets," "The Road to El Dorado") writes, directs and stars in this four-time Oscar-nominated classic Shakespeare saga about the melancholy Dane. With an all-star cast, including Oscar-nominee Kate Winslet ("Iris," "Titanic") and Oscar-winner Julie Christie ("Dragonheart," "Dr. Zhivago"), as well as appearances by Charlton Heston, John Gielgud, Jack Lemmon, Gerard Depardieu, Billy Crystal, Robin Williams and many others. Branagh received an Oscar nomination for his outstanding screenplay. The Hollywood Reporter says "Branagh has boldly invigorated William Shakespeare's most celebrated play to a towering visual dimension that captures the tumultuous tragedy as no stage or filmic version has… Multiple Oscar nominations seem in order."
Kenneth Nicholson pulls from a varied bag of interests. The Houston native is as motivated by 18th-century dress as he is by outfits from “Soul Train” and military uniforms — after attending the Academy of Art in San Francisco, Nicholson spent a one-year stint in the Navy before he was honorably discharged. But his overall interest is in expanding the boundaries of men’s wear.
“Historically, men haven’t been restricted to just a shirt and pants. They’ve had more options,” Nicholson said. “I like to edify people and shake things up.”
He divided his collection into three chapters. The first chapter was a stark white, which Nicholson said was void of color to express sadness. Models wore cotton and linen long-sleeved shirtdresses with subtle swing hems, white lace shirts paired with cream high-waisted pants, and a brocade jacket with an exaggerated lapel coupled with a matching skirt. References to royalty were sprinkled throughout the lineup. Some models wore sashes, others wore crowns and a couple of the more structured, beaded looks with mock necks, nipped waists and peplums, which were highlights from the collection, brought to mind regalness.
The second chapter, which signaled better memories and featured more color, was the strongest. Nicholson doubled

Casey Affleck heads a powerhouse cast in this acclaimed and deeply moving film from award-winning writer-director Kenneth Lonergan. After a solitary Boston janitor (Affleck) unexpectedly becomes the sole guardian of his 16-year-old nephew, he must come to terms with a past that separated him from his wife (Michelle Williams) and his hometown, as uncle and nephew unite for an unforgettable journey of love, community, sacrifice, and hope.
Adapted from William Shakespeare, the film tells the story of two couples–confirmed bachelor Benedick and caustic Beatrice, and young Claudio and innocent Hero. Playful bickering defines one couple, whereas romance and betrayal describe the other.
Oscar nominee Kenneth Branagh (Henry V) and Oscar winner Emma Thompson (Howards End*) give dazzling dual-role performances in this supernatural-tinged romantic murder mystery. Mike Church (Branagh) is a L.A. gumshoe with a knack for tossing off wisecracks and tracking down missing persons. But Church doesn't have a clue when he's hired to help a beautiful amnesia victim (Thompson) tormented by blood-curdling nightmares. Then an eccentric antiques dealer and hypnotist (Derek Jacobi) leads Church to a startling discovery: The source of the nightmares may lie in a past-life connection to Margaret Strauss, a world-famous pianist allegedly murdered by her composer husband… in 1948. In the classic tradition of Spellbound and Rebecca, Dead Again "brings an entertaining genre back to life" (Tom Jacobs, Los Angeles Daily News). Costarring Andy Garcia.

Can he bridge the chasm that separates their realms before she is lost forever to satan and the sea of fire? Can true love change the eternal plan of God? Can a man step into the depths of hell and save his beloved?

Changes are afoot at Kenneth Cole Productions for fall.
The 32-year-old accessories and apparel firm, which after an 18-year run as a public company went private in 2012, is starting to make some noise again.
Cole has redesigned its logo and Web site, will launch a multimedia ad campaign called “Courageous Class,” has elevated its women’s and men’s sportswear and accessories offerings for fall and will open a new prototype store on Bond and Bowery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan on Sept. 15, which incorporates both omnichannel strategies and social initiatives benefiting the neighborhood.
In a recent interview at the company’s headquarters, founder, executive chairman and chief creative officer Kenneth Cole and chief executive officer Marc Schneider described what prompted the rebranding of the business, which generates $ 1 billion in retail sales worldwide across all licenses and product categories.
Cole said he had an epiphany a few years ago and decided that “in an effort to revitalize and re-energize and make the company relevant again, that we needed to make some significant changes.” It became apparent, he added, that all the things the brand needed to be doing, it couldn’t do as a public company.
“You can’t do it in a public arena
