If you didn’t know, the folks that bring us NBA 2K every year are now hopping on the golf course. Ahead of the launch of PGA TOUR 2K21, 2K dropped a hilarious new launch trailer featuring Top Dawg’s own Schoolboy Q and more.

In the trailer, we see Groovy Q get his virtual Tiger Woods on alongside WWE Superstar and reality TV personality Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, PGA Tour pro golfer, and the games cover athlete Justin Thomas, and legendary actor Christopher McDonald. In the quick clip, the “Man of The Year” crafter, Miz, and Thomas calmy flex their virtual golfing skills while McDonald hilariously struggles to compete with them.

For those that didn’t know, Schoolboy Q is quite the golfer in real life. Speaking with GQ, he told the publication he picked up the golf clubs back in 2018. Speaking with Golf Digest, the rapper revealed he got into the sport as the result of a bet.

“It was a bet. We were in the studio, and my boy starts talking crazy. He’s a fashion designer who grew up playing with his dad. He says golf’s too hard for me. Bets me 10 grand that I can’t make a birdie in two years. At this point, the only golfers I’d heard of were Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Arnold Palmer, and him only because of the drink. In less than 10 rounds, I made a birdie, sank about a 70-foot putt, and it was over.”

The Detroit-based brand with the Made in the U.S. ethos has rejiggered the messaging around its latest timepiece, pivoting from its planned launch for the now-canceled Olympic Games to instead support health-care workers fighting the coronavirus.
Shinola had originally planned to introduce “The Champ,” a Detrola watch, at the Olympic’s Opening Ceremony in Tokyo next month. Now The Champ will be launched to honor “the real champs,” the company said — the health-care workers in its hometown of Detroit.
The watch is available for pre-purchase beginning today and is expected to be delivered in late July, pending the reopening of the Shinola factory. It retails for $ 395 and is limited to 500 units.

The Champ retails for $ 395. 

The Champ features a multicolored matte dial in a striped pattern of red, gold, bright blue, bright green and black along with the Shinola Detroit and Detrola collection logos. The cream colored 43-mm. case in TR90 resin is anchored by a stainless-steel core and Argonite 705 movement that was hand-assembled in Detroit, and the dial features a double-domed K1 crystal. The unisex watch also has a black silicone strap.

Harlem’s Fashion Row to Launch Nonprofit to Help Designers

With scores of designers in need of financial assistance due to the coronavirus shutdown, Harlem’s Fashion Row is planning to launch a nonprofit titled Icon360.
The kickoff “virtual fundraiser” event is set for May 30 and aims to raise funds for designers of color. Candidates will be able to apply for Icon360 grants starting June 15.
The online event will feature an assortment of speakers, including designers Christopher John Rogers and Tracy Reese, as well as stylist Kesha McLeod and the National Basketball Association’s senior vice president of diversity and inclusion Liliahn Majeed. Rogers won the grand prize at last year’s CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. With more than 30 years of experience in the fashion industry, Reese has become increasingly focused on eco-friendly practices and sustainable option.
The virtual happening will include the option of viewing a fashion show with previous HFR designers and up-and-coming ones.
All tickets sales will benefit Icon360. Nike, Gap, Shea Moisture and Diageo are supporting the inaugural event.

The Miami-based hospitality and brand development company Sbe has partnered with activewear brad Goldsheep Clothing to create a private-label line.
Goldsheep founder and designer Keri Wilson has collaborated with Sbe’s resident tastemaker, model Emina Cunmulaj Nazarian, on creative direction of the line, which launches Monday on Goldsheep and Sbe’s web sites. It will also be available for purchase at Sbe global properties, like the Mondrian Hotel. The collection, including leggings, sports bras and warm-up sets, will retail from $ 70 to $ 130.

Anne Barge Celebrates 20 Years in Bridal Business, Readies to Launch Little White Dress Collection

NEW YORK – Anne Barge celebrated its 20th anniversary Thursday with a New York fashion show and a one-night retrospective, and creative director Shawne Jacobs is planning for the company’s next chapter.
A graduate of the American Intercontinental University in Atlanta, she joined the company in 2001. In 2012, during a trip to one of the company’s factories in China, Jacobs and her husband learned of Barge’s succession idea. “She saw us really working together as a team. Me working as creative director designing for the brand and my husband running the financial side of it,” Jacobs said.
For Thursday night’s Anne Barge runway show, gowns from the namesake’s archives were reimagined to infuse new elements to some traditional and classic styles. The result led to architectural designs made with Italian Kalika and allover floral Alençon laces for more feminine accents. There were also tulle designs with 3-D textures and metallic floral embroidery. To give brides-to-be more youthful options, the company offered jumpsuits, bustiers and illusion necklines.
Having attended its first bridal market in China in July, the company aims to build sales in China, which is not overflowing with Western bridal designers. In addition, brides in China typically wear four or five different

Byredo’s Ben Gorham Celebrates Craig McDean Tie-in, Plots Cosmetics Launch

TEAM SPIRIT: Ben Gorham has always put collaboration at the core of his work and his next tie-in involves the launch of another new category for Byredo: color cosmetics.
“I’m working on a cosmetics, makeup line for next year, which has been a really big, interesting project. It’s challenging in every sense of the word not being a woman and creating makeup, but there is a collaboration element, too, and when that’s revealed it will make complete sense,” Gorham said, declining to name his collaborator.
During Paris Fashion Week, he was celebrating another longtime friend and collaborator, the photographer Craig McDean and his new Rizzoli book.
Gorham wanted to take on the “supporting act” this time around and embark with McDean on a book signing tour, hosted at Byredo stores worldwide.
The duo has already made a stop in London and after their Paris Fashion Week event — which was held on Friday evening and drew the likes of Elsa Hosk, Peter Phillips and Grace Coddington — they will move on to Montreal, New York, Milan, Seoul and Tokyo.

Baublebar’s costume-jewelry designs largely retail for less than $ 50. The company decided to enter the world of fine after experiencing unforeseen success with the launch of its gold vermeil collection.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America and the Accessories Council have named five finalists for their third annual Elaine Gold Launch Pad program, which supports new companies.
The finalists are Tribe + Glory’s Loren Thomas and Caragh Bennet; Graham Baldwin’s Graham Tyler; Shanel’s Shanel Campbell; Bond Hardware’s Dana Hurwitz and Mariah Pershadsingh, and Rui Zhou.
Each finalist has been in business for less than three years and will vie for a portion of the fund’s $ 175,000 in prize money. Over the course of 23 weeks, finalists will partake in a “virtual residency” that sees them review their business strategies, brand concepts and design offerings.
“As CFDA and Accessories Council enter the third year of Elaine Gold Launch Pad, we are immensely proud of the success of past participants. While Samsung unpacked its new family of Galaxy S10 phones, Apple is reportedly getting into the credit business teaming up with investment firm Goldman Sachs to issue its own physical credit card that will offer customers perks.

If you thought Apple fans were snobs wait till this credit card goes live.

According to the Wall Street Journalthe tech giant will be partnering with Goldman Sachs to issue a credit card that will be paired with a new iPhone feature, of course, that will allow users to manage money, debt, rewards and other tools.

The card will be offered to Apple staffers for a trial run according to report and will feature visuals from the Health App like “rings” to help you manage spending habits. The card which can be added to Apple’s Wallet App will use Mastercard’s payment network and off perks like up to 2 percent on cash back on most purchases and possibly more when you swipe your card to purchase Apple products.

As to what Goldman Sachs hopes to get out of this joint venture? Well, it hopes the new card will attract Apple’s insanely loyal fanbase to its Marcus online bank. The investment firm according to the WSJ is investing $ 200 million which will go towards the backend infrastructure such as an internal system and customer support call centers to help handle payments.

A$AP Rocky Lights Up Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ & Galaxy Note5 Launch Event [Photos]

Samsung has repeatedly told you that “The Next Big Thing” is already here and the prestigious company is set to release the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ and Galaxy Note5 on August 21 to live together in technological matrimony.

Last night (August 18), West Hollywood was transformed into a star-studded celebration for plenty of Samsung ambassadors ahead of the new product rollout.

DJ M.O.S. warmed up the crowd with Hip-Hop freshness from new and old as Chrissy Teigen (fresh off her viral ad), Jamie Foxx, Tyrese, Russell Simmons, Wesley Snipes, Demi Levato, apl.de.ap and Aldis Hodge (coming Straight Outta Compton), among others enjoyed an open bar and the atmosphere.

Elsewhere, technical newlyweds Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade treated their Los Angeles rendezvous like a date night and planned an one-year anniversary vacation.

Midway through the night, A$ AP Rocky–alongside A$ AP Twelvy–took the center stage for a surprise performance and ran through three albums worth of material with hits like “M’s”, “Wassup”, “Goldie”, “Electric Body” and “Everyday.” Seeing that power of the Samsung Galaxy S6 edge+ was at his disposal, he allowed fans to use the phone to choose his swan song. Of course they chose his “favorite” track, “F**king Problems.”

YouTube has partnered with "hundreds of major and independent" music labels for the new service, the company said in a statement, confirming long-running rumors that the world's most popular online video website will offer a paid music service. The news comes as some music trade groups have criticized YouTube's plans to potentially block the content of certain labels from appearing on YouTube's free, ad-supported Website unless they sign deals to participate in the new, subscription streaming music service.
