In The World's Greatest Poker Players Answer 14 Questions, Mike Romiltan picks the brains of some of the game's most brilliant and succesful players, including poker legend Doyle Brunson, 14-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth, the ridiculously wealthy Antonio Esfandiari, the ever arrogant Doug Polk, speech-play grandmaster William Kassouf, and many others. The book is essential reading for all poker fans, as well as anyone who has an advanced appreciation of the human mind.

A Woman Says She Believes Her Ex Molested Their Daughter; Why Dr. Phil Has Questions About Her Claims

“I believe that Dan sexually molested our daughter,” says Gina about her ex-husband. “When Alexis was 2 ½, out of the blue Alexis told me that her dad gave her “owies [in her private parts].”

Gina says she confronted Dan about it 16 years ago, and he denied then, and continues to absolutely deny, the accusations, but she says she believed her daughter. “She would say that Daddy touched her with a scissors, or she would say that Daddy touched her with a knife,” Gina claims. “I watched Alexis’ behaviors totally just change. She started becoming withdrawn. She had nightmares, she was wetting the bed.”

Gina claims she went to the police but says, “There was no physical evidence, so they said it was his word against hers.”

Dan is adamant that he has never molested his daughter and claims that Gina unleashed a campaign to destroy him after he broke up with her. “She wasn’t letting me see my kids, so I took her to court. That’s when she said, ‘Oh, by the way, he’s molesting his daughter,’” Dan says. “To hear those words come out of her mouth when everyone’s looking at you, it makes you want to crawl underneath a rock and just die. She decided she would use the kids as pawns to hurt me. The accusations completely destroyed my relationship with my daughter.”

Dan continues, “I waited for the last 15 years to clear my name, a chance to let my daughter know that I’m not the monster her mother has portrayed me to be, a chance to start healing our relationship and be in her life.”

“Did you or did you not molest your daughter?” Dr. Phil asks Dan in the video above.

“One hundred percent did not,” Dan replies.

After reviewing a timeline of events from back then, Dr. Phil asks Gina why she would willingly have her daughter spend time with a man she claimed molested their child, after she had first made the allegations. “As a mother, believing that this man molested your daughter, you consciously and knowingly continued to deliver her into his hands for four months,” he says. “You are the first mother, first, in 45 years, that has ever said, ‘My daughter is being molested by a man, and I’m going to deliver her into his hands for four more months,’ knowing what he is doing to her. In 45 years, this is a first for me. You are the first.”

“I didn’t want to believe it,” Gina says.

On Tuesday’s episode of Dr. Phil, see what happens when Dan takes a polygraph. Will it help clear his name? And, find out what happens after the show, when Gina asks to take a polygraph. Check here to see where you can watch.

15 Questions: Perez Hilton

Perez Hilton is no stranger to controversy and has managed to stay in the headlines for the past 10 years! He has proved he has staying power, but something you may not know about him is his love for music. He has a new compilation album coming out soon, so I decided to ask him, “15 Questions.”

1. I guess we should get right to the gossip! I just saw you in the headlines (again) because of the picture of you and your son in the bath tub. Do you think people are just trying to find a reason to give you a hard time?

I think it’s interesting. If I were a mom or Chris Hemsworth, the reaction would have been quite different.

2. I hear you have a new music series. Tell about “Perez Hilton’s Pop Up! #6” and what makes this album different from the previous 5?

What really sets my compilations apart is that these are not songs that are being played on the radio, which follows trends. Each album is different, special, and evokes so many different feelings — because my tastes are so eclectic. I have some more established acts on this one, such as Meiko and Kimbra, and also bunch of really deserving artists that should be played all over the radio. (You probably have never heard of.)

2015-10-08-1444335884-8752477-pop.jpg

3. Have you always had a passion for music? Who are some of your favorite artists of all time and why?

I have always loved music, every since I can remember! My first concert ever was Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine, when I was six years old. She’s one of my all-time favorites. I felt like she was a family member! And I also grew up idolizing Madonna! Then in the 90s it was all about Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan and Jewel. I’ve always loved my divas and this compilation has many!

4. What music do you play for your children (Mia and Mario) and do you sing to them?

We listen to lots of music in our house, but mainly Spanish-language songs. My son’s favorite is La Bamba, and we do sing these songs together!

5. How have you changed after becoming a father? Are you more sensitive to the whole issue of bullying?

I’ve become a lot less selfish. My family’s happiness is more important than my individual happiness and that often times involves tough choices and sacrifices. I’ve also become a lot more careful with my spending money and a lot more anxious about the future. My life has also exponentially been filled with love, joy, and smiles — daily!

6. How has perezhilton.com changed over the last ten years?

So much! I feel like a dinosaur of the Internet. I’m just thankful to still be around and doing new things all the time. Whether that be hiring a full-time animator to make cartoons for my website, to currently starring in “Full House The Musical” Off-Broadway, to my new podcast that I launched this summer: The Perez Hilton Podcast. You can listen to on iTunes or at http://Play.it/Perez

7. Have you bounced back from your crazy experience in the Big Brother house?
Not fully.

8. Michelle Visage is adored by a lot of gay fans. Why do you think the two of you had such a hard time getting along?

Because Michelle REALLY wanted to stay in that house as long as possible. I just wanted to get my paycheck and leave as quickly as possible. She saw me as a threat instead of an ally.

9. Has it been hard to keep off the weight? What do you typically eat in one day?

It’s one of my biggest and ongoing struggles. I am a food addict! That’s why eating healthy is so important to me. I can rarely cheat. I don’t eat anything special. Just normal foods that aren’t super fattening or prepared awfully and the right portions. I also eat or snack at least every two hours, which is important, so I’m not tempted to gorge!

10. What article has the most views in perezhilton.com history?

Good question! I don’t know if we have an answer. I still have quite a fondness for the spring of 2005 and being the first media outlet anywhere to post a photo of Brad and Angelina as a couple. That photo crashed my site!

11. Have you ever regretted anything you have posted about a celebrity?

Tons. I wish I could go in time and erase lots of what I did, but I can’t. What I can do is try and not repeat those mistakes again and that’s what I’m working on daily.

12. I read that you and Lady Gaga are friends again? What do you think of her new campaign for Tom Ford and are you excited to see her on American Horror story?

We are not friends, but I also wouldn’t consider her an enemy. She is very talented and seems happier, therefore I am happy for her.

2015-10-08-1444336187-1757395-ph2.jpg

13. What concert is your favorite of all time?
Every year when I get to put on my SXSW showcase that concert is so special to me. I’ve had everyone from Katy Perry to Courtney Love to Ed Sheeran and Macklemore perform.

14. What song on your new Pop Up album is the best to work out to?
“Sunshine by Young Katy.” It will make you feel like it’s warm and breezy and you’re going for a jog in Ibiza!

15. Lets play a game. I am going to mention 10 celebrities and you describe them in one word:

Britney Spears: Icon.
Lindsay Lohan: Troubled.
Paris Hilton: Blonde.
Justin Bieber: Hair.
Cher: Flawless.
Michelle Visage: Makeup.
RuPaul: Legend.
Adam Lambert: Singer.
Lady GaGa: Talented.
Elton John: Dad.

15 Questions For Women On The Red Carpet That Are Better Than ‘What Are You Wearing?’

On  the red carpet, women celebrities often get the “rabbit food” questions, which means that essentially they’re only asked about what they eat and what they wear. Amy Poehler’s “Smart Girls” is trying to change that.

On Sept. 10, Poehler’s organization “Smart Girls” launched a campaign called #SmartGirlsAsk to generate more meaningful and intellectual conversations on the red carpet. With the Emmy Awards taking place on Sept. 20, Smart Girls hopes some of these questions could even be used this Sunday.

In partnership with the Television Academy, Smart Girls asked people on Twitter: “What compelling questions would you ask on the red carpet?”

The campaign, which follows in the footsteps of The Representation Project’s #AskHerMore, generated hundreds of responses from people of all genders on Twitter — and even got a shout out from Hillary Clinton and “Scandal” star Katie Lowes. The questions ranged from “what advice would you give your younger self?” to “what’s your favorite sports team?”

The overwhelming response to #SmartGirlsAsk proves that more meaningful conversations can and should be happening on the red carpet. Hearing about a woman’s beautiful gown is great, but it would be equally great to hear about her career trajectory and the accomplishments that led her to be on the red carpet in the first place.

Here are 15 questions we would love to hear the answers to on the red carpet:

We look forward to (hopefully) hearing a few of these questions at the Emmys!

Head over to Twitter to read more awesome questions from #SmartGirlsAsk.

Real and Simple No. 3: Answers to Your Most Basic Etiquette Questions

Number three on my list of most-asked etiquette questions includes both business and social quandaries, with answers to help you move gracefully through your day.

When applying for a job, is it okay to ask about salary range? As a job candidate, you are within your rights to ask about salary range. It’s not okay to ask how you measure up against other candidates.

When out to lunch on a job interview, is it okay to order a sandwich? Job interview food can be tricky. It’s okay to order a sandwich, but steer clear of spaghetti. No one wants red sauce on his or her white shirt. The best choice would be grilled meat or fish.

Is it okay to serve liqueurs during lunch? Liqueurs are not served with lunch unless the event is a formal diplomatic affair.

Should children be admitted to live theatre? Of course children are meant to attend theater staged expressly for them, but as a general rule they should not attend live theatre for adults; they are simply too fidgety and can disturb other patrons.

Do you have to RSVP when you cannot attend an event? It’s always courteous to respond, whether the answer is yes or no.

In the English style of service, is the food presented on a platter then plated at a nearby table? This style of service is Russian. The English style is when food is presented on platters and you serve yourself (see Downton Abbey).

To engage in small talk, do you only need to read the headlines of a newspaper? A good rule is to know a little about a lot of things. Read anything and everything, not just the headlines. And don’t forget the sports section!

When setting the table with place cards, should you add the person’s honorific? You may add Dr., as in Dr. Samuel Johnson, but not academic degrees, as in Samuel Johnson, Ph.D.

After listening to a speaker, is it okay to ask questions? Most speakers appreciate an audience interested enough to ask questions. If you are responding to something the speaker said, repeat the remark before you ask your question.

When taking a telephone message, should you always ask a person why he or she is calling? No, the reason for the call should not be asked. The person answering the phone should simply ask the caller’s name, repeat and confirm the message, and ask how the call can be returned.

Security Questions

I was scheduled to fly from North Carolina to Germany, where my husband was stationed in the military. As I checked in at the airport, the ticket
agent asked me some standard security questions. “Has anyone given you any packages that you didn’t pack yourself?” he asked.

I told him that my mother-in-law had given me a parcel to take to her son. He paused for a second, looked at me very carefully and asked: “Does she
like you?”

24 Questions Black People Need White People To Answer, Like Right Now

“Do y’all really think Miley is the one who created twerking? Really?”

This is just one of “24 Questions Black People Have For White People,” according to a new video released by Buzzfeed.

Five black people pose questions that open dialogue around white privilege, appropriation and more. Some other necessary questions they ask are: “Why is it that white crime is seen as an isolated incident but black crime is a representation of my entire community,” or “Why do you want to say the N-word so badly” and ”Why is it that white people always act as though they’ve discovered a new trend when people of color have been doing it for virtually years?”

White people often appropriate black culture without giving us credit — from slang words we created to the hairstyles we rock – and we want to know why!

See the rest of the questions in the video above.

Real and Simple No. 1: Answers to Your Most Basic Etiquette Questions

Oprah may have her list of favorite things, but I have my list of “most asked” etiquette questions. If you want to be in the know, or simply want to know the right thing to say or do in different situations, life just got that much easier.

• If I am at at a private home and I break something, should I offer to replace it? Accidents at parties are common. If you break something, it’s basic etiquette to offer to replace the item, even though breakage is considered to be a price of home entertaining. The guest is ultimately not responsible.

When in a synagogue, am I required to wear a yamaka if I am not Jewish? Even non-Jewish men are required to wear a yamaka (a skullcap, also known as a yarmulke or a kippah) at a Jewish ceremony. Women may or may not be asked to wear one. But only Jewish men wear a tallit (a prayer shawl).

Is it okay to eat berries with my fingers? Berries are eaten with a spoon if served without stems. Berries with stems, such as strawberries, may be eaten with the fingers.

If someone accidentally uses your bread plate at a dinner, should you ask the waiter for another one? Don’t ask for another plate, as this will crowd the table. The easiest solution is to use the rim of your dinner plate.
• How many times is it appropriate to go back and forth with an email for business? Three times is the rule; then pick up the telephone.

• Is it okay to attend a Catholic funeral if I am not Catholic? Yes. Non-Catholics may attend Catholic funerals and other Masses, although they may not receive Communion.

Is it okay to take my seat if I arrive late to a talk or lecture? If you can slip in quietly, do so; otherwise, stand in the back of the room until the presentation is done.

If an employee issue arises, should I handle it myself or ask a higher authority for help? Never attempt to go to a higher authority unless you cannot take care of the problem first yourself.

How should I introduce my boss to a client? The rule is to say the most important person’s name first. In business, the client is considered the most important person, even though your boss is your superior. Simply say something along the lines of “Mr. Client, I’d like to introduce Mr. Boss, my manager. Mr. Boss, this is Mr. Client, our new client.” It doesn’t matter if the client is younger than your boss or if your boss is male or female; always introduce the client first.

Are You Bad-Boy Bait? 5 Questions To Ask Yourself

You know as well as I do that when that biological clock starts sounding like the beginning of 60 Minutes and you’ve started going to your friends second weddings, it’s all too easy to panic. You get desperate and think, “Who’s got time for standards? I’ll just be anybody’s dog who will hunt with me — anybody who will have me will do, or anybody who’ll do me, I’ll have!” You are not going to do that.

If you don’t believe you’re worthy of getting what you want, you can turn even an altar boy into a bad boy. We show people how to treat us, so if your cell phone is blowing up with booty calls from players, take a good hard look at how you perceive yourself and answer the following questions:

1. Would I prefer more respectful treatment from guys?
2. Do I go along with what others want more often than not?
3. Do I put the feelings of others above my own?
4. Do I often ignore, deny or overlook my true feelings?
5. Am I afraid that if I don’t do what others want, they will leave?

If you answered “yes” to just one or two of the above questions, you can relax, because you are not looking for a bad boy. What you are doing, however, is asking these boys to treat you badly. To learn how to stop projecting your doubts into the world and start sending the message that you deserve respect, start here.

American Samoa Questions If Gay Marriage Ruling Applies To Territory

PAGO PAGO, American Samoa (AP) – American Samoa stands as the only U.S. territory to hold out against the recent Supreme Court ruling that legalized gay marriage.

But as the Pacific island’s attorney general reviews the decision, legal observers and gay rights advocates are saying it should go into effect immediately.

“It should be unquestioned,” said Rose Cuison Villazor, a professor at University of California, Davis’ law school and an expert on territorial law. “The Supreme Court’s decision was pretty strong.”

American Samoa Attorney General Talauega Eleasalo Ale, however, hasn’t been ready to take that step.

“We’re still reviewing the decision to determine its applicability to American Samoa, and I have no specific comments at this time,” he said.

Asked if same sex marriage is legal in the territory, Ale said, “I don’t know. We’re reviewing the law.”

U.S. territories have some self-governance rights. The right to marry, however, isn’t a question of self-governance, said Omar Gonzalez-Pagan, staff attorney for national gay rights group Lambda Legal. “This is a question of individual right, individual liberty.”

Other U.S. territories have voluntarily complied with the Supreme Court decision.

In Puerto Rico, Gov. Alejandro Garcia Padilla signed an executive order soon after the ruling. U.S. Virgin Islands Gov. Kenneth Mapp has said he would issue a similar executive order. In Guam, there is no effort to ignore or challenge the ruling, said territorial legislative Vice Speaker Benjamin F. Cruz, who is gay. The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands is also supporting the decision.

As of Thursday, no one has applied for a same sex marriage license in American Samoa, according to the island’s Office of Vital Statistics.

Christian churches with conservative social views dominate in American Samoa, home to about 50,000, and the government’s motto is “Samoa, Let God Be First.” Yet the territory has a tradition of embracing faafafine – males who are raised as females and take on feminine traits.

There are many faafafine who aren’t supportive of gay marriage out of “respect for our Samoan culture and religious beliefs,” said well-known faafafine Princess Auvaa.

The lack of marriage license applications by same-sex couples shouldn’t be taken to mean no one in American Samoa desires gay marriage, Villazor said. The attorney general’s review may have a chilling effect, she said. “I would think there are cultural barriers to begin with. The AG might present some other legal and social barriers, too,” she said.

For gay marriage to be recognized in American Samoa, there needs to be a voluntary decision or litigation, said Chimene Keitner, an expert on territorial status issues at University of California, Hastings College of the Law.

Litigation would require “plaintiffs who have been denied the right to marry and are willing to take a public position on that and challenge their inability to marry,” she said. Plaintiffs could also be those who were married elsewhere and want the marriage recognized in American Samoa, she said.

Auvaa said she wants gay marriage to be legal in American Samoa. If it’s determined that it is, she said, “I would be the first person to apply for a marriage license – if I had a boyfriend who would agree to marriage.”

10 Key Questions for Caring Co-Parents to Support the Kids You Love!

Divorced parents face challenges that are not only complex; they are long lasting as well. There are many variations of joint parenting, co-parenting and other forms of divorced parenting based on how well both parents get along, their geographical proximity, the age of the children and other contributing factors. Every decision made will affect the children involved — and the impact can be detected in children’s behavior, attitudes and levels of self-esteem.

To help parents co-parent more effectively I’ve created a list of significant questions to ask yourselves. I share these during mentoring sessions with parents not only before, but long after the divorce as well. If you sit together and discuss these questions, or review them during mediation, it can help you avoid serious mistakes and unnecessary strife now and well into the future.

The more honest you are with yourself and your former spouse, the easier for your children to move on after divorce into their new reality. If your co-parent doesn’t want to cooperate with you in answering these questions, there’s still value in answering by yourself and reflecting on the consequences for your children when you choose conflict over cooperation with your ex.

1. How can we make life better for our children after the divorce than it was before?

2. What can we do to boost their sense of security, self-esteem and well being during the transitions ahead?

3. Will our children respect us when they’re adults for the way we handled the divorce?

4. How can we best support our children – and minimize the physical, emotional and spiritual damage inflicted upon them as a result of our divorce?

5. Who can provide the best home environment for the children – and for what percent of each day, week, month and year? Can we be flexible as the kids age and change stages in life?

6. Am I burdening my children with responsibilities only an adult should have to bear?

7. Would I make this same parenting decision if we were still married — or am I allowing my anger/hatred/resentment/pain to affect my judgment and clarity?

8. How can we show our love and compassion for our children as they move through challenges they did not ask for — or create?

9. Do I want to rob my children of their childhood because of my divorce?

10. How can each of us best contribute our assets — physical, emotional and spiritual — to create harmony, good will and a sense of peace within the family structure?

And last, but most important of all …

Do I love my kids more than I may dislike or hate my Ex?

With these questions as guidelines, you are on a straight path to creating a child-centered divorce — one that respects your children’s rights through cooperative, respectful joint parenting.

It may not be the easiest path, but it will generate the best outcome for everyone in the family. And, one day, when your kids are grown adults, they will THANK YOU for doing your divorce right!

Need to File for a Divorce!

A Few Questions to Consider in Divorce Property Division Situations

This comment provides a very brief and incomplete educational overview limited to the complex law surrounding divorce property division. Always consult an experienced attorney and financial and tax professionals in all family law property matters.

Divorce property division involves numerous financial and legal issues. The following is a brief list of 20 questions, among many, that must be resolved.

1. Is there a valid marriage? Sometimes, among many possible situations, there may be a preexisting marriage, such as a common law marriage, without an intervening divorce. Creating a relationship history may be appropriate. Is an annulment or legal separation preferable to a divorce, given the unique circumstances and financial needs of the parties?

2. Do the parties understand, up-front, the likely expenses associated with the divorce, such as attorney’s fees, court costs and other professional fees? To what extent may the divorce court under applicable state law require one party to pay some or all of these expenses? Will proving the history and ownership of assets become relevant in a property division or result in a jury trial?

3. Do the parties understand the likely time-line and sequence of events in the divorce proceeding? Depending upon a variety of factors and the number of pending cases on the divorce court’s docket, time frames may vary. Are there adequate provisions for intervening expenses? Does one spouse have control of financial records, bank accounts, vehicle titles and other assets? Should the court be petitioned to require the sharing of assets and information?

4. Do the parties understand expected courtroom decorum and attire? Has a party been adequately prepared by her or his attorney concerning what is likely to occur in court and the potential questions if testifying? One cannot be over prepared when going before a judge or jury.

5. Precisely what is the date of separation? This may become important in determining the status of property and debts acquired after this date.

6. Do the divorcing spouses have an enforceable prenuptial or other property agreement or multiple agreements? If so, this may simplify the property division process; however, an agreement may be invalid if improperly created. Also, it may omit assets or be judicially determined to be unfair to a spouse.

7. Is the divorce being undertaken subject to “community property law” or “equitable division or distribution law?” Community property law originated with Mexico and Spain and is most common in southwestern states. In an incomplete and simplified generalization, community property law treats marriage much like a partnership with a presumption of joint ownership of property. Equitable distribution allows greater flexibility for a judge to consider factors such as the duration of the marriage and contributions of the spouses in achieving a “fair” division of assets.

8. Has all of the property been identified? Will the divorce court have meaningful and enforceable jurisdiction over assets located in other states or foreign nations? A spouse may attempt to conceal or skim assets, the many techniques of which are beyond the scope of this brief comment. Intangible assets and items such as future pension benefits may be easily overlooked. Accrued tax benefits, the value of professional practices, business goodwill, life insurance, unused reward benefits, club memberships, intellectual property and items in storage are just a few of many items to consider.

Did one spouse provide funds for the other’s advanced education and potentially have a right to reimbursement or a share of future earnings? Separate property that moved through a joint bank account, for example, may be subject to division. The ownership of pets and keepsakes are frequently hotly contested. New forms of reproductive technologies may create ownership issues regarding frozen eggs and embryos, for example.

Consult the Social Security Administration concerning possible benefits based upon your ex-spouse’s payment record if you are age 62 or older, were married at least 10 years and are currently unmarried.

One must think carefully and consult experienced professionals to be certain property has not been overlooked or undervalued. An experienced financial private investigator or forensic accountant may be necessary if one suspects that assets are being hidden.

9. Does a spouse have a valid claim that certain assets are her or his separate property? The issue of separate property is complex with the name on a deed or title or related documents not being conclusive evidence of exclusive ownership. It is frequently necessary to trace the history and transformations of assets (for example, from an item to cash that was used to purchase another item, etc.) in order to resolve ownership. Additionally, depending on state law, a court may have broad authority over all assets.

10. Have all marital and business related debts been identified? A spouse may discover that she or he has personal liability for a debt created by the other spouse. While a court may attempt to assign responsibility for a debt to one individual, creditors frequently still have enforceable legal rights again both parties. An “innocent spouse” may be able to obtain relief from unpaid taxes. Consult a tax professional. Understand the impact of the divorce on your credit rating and obtain a copy of your credit report to identify listed outstanding creditors and your current standing.

11. Has there been waste or dissipation of assets by a spouse? It may be possible to have the court require reimbursement of the expenses of an extramarital affair, for example. However, with the advent of no-fault divorce in the 1970s, fault as a factor in property division is frequently not considered. Nevertheless, depending on the state, domestic violence (truthful or false allegations) and social media communications may become important equitable (fairness) considerations. The facts surrounding business losses may become significant. A spouse’s knowledge and participation in business ventures may be equally important.

12. Is the value of all assets known? Inherited furniture or art, for example, may be valuable antiques. When in doubt have a professional appraisal made.

13. Are there marital assets that have either significantly appreciated or depreciated in value during the marriage or are likely to do so in the future? Has a financial professional reviewed possible future events in relation to these assets? For example, a business might be on the verge of a major expansion due to the efforts of a spouse. A thoughtful consideration of both events that have occurred during the marriage and may occur in the future are important.

14. Is a bankruptcy likely to occur in connection with the divorce or shortly thereafter? If so, the manner in which the property division is structured may become an important issue. For example, bankruptcy courts have broad authority over property and debts but not child support and spousal support. Also, an ex-spouse might be released from a debt in a manner that places the entire responsibility for repayment on the other ex-spouse. The precise language to be used in divorce court orders and decrees must be carefully reviewed.

15. Are minor children, disabled children or disabled spouses parties in the divorce? If so, a property division should take into account their present and future needs. Housing and transportation needs may override the desire of a healthy spouse to own a house or vehicle. Consider the present creation by court order of trust funds administered by a reputable financial institution to contain funds for college education expenses or other foreseeable future needs. Carefully restrict access to these funds.

16. Will the property division require continuing or future actions by a former spouse? Future actions may be difficult to enforce due to changes in circumstances or indifference or obstinacy by an ex. Be very cautious when creating such requirements. Be equally cautious when providing a spouse with funds to be spent in a particular way in the future, such as for college education expenses. It is easy for one to rationalize the misspending of money. A carefully crafted trust fund, as mentioned above, is a preferable option.

17. Are the spouses able to amicably negotiate or mediate? If so, significant expense and emotional stress may be avoided. However, be prepared to encounter typical negotiation tactics and blustering. Will you have consultants available to assist you?

18. Has a negotiated property settlement agreement been prepared by an experienced attorney and reviewed by a financial and tax professional? How will the agreement be enforced and are any potential enforcement mechanisms realistic? Understand that assets may disappear and ex-spouses vanish.

19. Has the divorce court incorporated the property settlement agreement into a judicial degree so that it has become final and irrevocable? Does it contain binding duties that may be enforced by a court? Are provisions as self-executing as possible or are they dependent upon future actions? An experienced attorney should appropriately accomplish this.

20. In the event that a party is dissatisfied with the decisions of the divorce judge, is there an appropriate procedural foundation for an appeal to a higher court? An experienced attorney will carefully “preserve error” and “protect the record” so that an appeal is possible.

This comment provides a very brief and incomplete educational overview of a complex topic and is not intended to provide legal advice. Always consult an experienced attorney, financial professional and tax professional in specific marital property situations.

Watch ‘OITNB’ Stars Hilariously React To Sexist Interview Questions

Uzo Aduba, Natasha Lyonne and Samira Wiley know exactly how to answer some very boring and very sexist interview questions.

The three “Orange Is The New Black” stars sat down with Brazilian comedian Rafael Cortez on June 15 at a Netflix junket and reacted to his sexist questions like the champs that they are. From Aduba’s face to Lyonne’s fierce response to a seriously sexist question — it’s clear these ladies don’t take sh*t from anyone.

Telling by their faces, the women were a bit taken aback at first:

Cortez begins the interview by asking Aduba if she thinks the series needs “a guy inside the jail with [her] doing things that just one guy can be able to do.” When Aduba quickly points out that there are indeed men in the show, Cortez replies: “No I mean guys, men, roar! Do you see my muscles? Would you like to see?” To which she says, “No.”

He continues on his weird, sexist, ambiguously satirical interview when he asked Lyonne and Wiley if their beauty gets in the way of their work. Lyonne was definitely having some trouble answering the question — or for that matter, believing it was even real. “I feel like [the question] is accidentally maybe a little bit misogynistic,” she told Cortez.

“Despite great beauty on the show, everybody is professional and talented and very capable,” Lyonne went on. “So I don’t think that really anybody is really thinking about something as meaningless as their beauty when they’re at work or certainly not this show.”

Shut. Down.

Kim Kardashian’s Letter To Her Future Self Asks The Big Questions

Kim Kardashian gets thoughtful, penning a letter to her future self in a video for Glamour — and it’s kind of like looking into the reality star’s soul.

A lot can change in 10 years, but Kardashian seems to have everything planned out. When she’s 44, Kardashian wants to remind herself, “When it comes to how you feel about your body, remember to be kind to yourself and enjoy how you look now because you’re not getting any younger.”

She also writes, “Since North is now 12, I hope you remember that pre-teens are going through a lot. I know Junior High is really tough, so remember to have a lot of patience!”

Still, Kardashian knows who she is, and doesn’t think a decade will change that.

“I trust that you will still be the queen of contouring,” she writes, adding, “May science invent a mysterious and delicious green juice to keep you tan forever.” (We would totally invest in this technology, if someone wants to make that happen).

And because Kim Kardashian ponders only the big questions in life, she wonders:

“Are you still filming ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians? … Are selfies still a thing? Are the terms ‘bae’ and ‘on fleek’ so 2015? If not, am I still ‘on fleek?'”

And lastly she writes to her future self, “If you haven’t broken the 100 billion mark on Instagram followers, I’ll be very disappointed in you. Bible.”

Well, it’s good to have goals.

18 Questions For Claire Dearing From ‘Jurassic World,’ Who Ran From Dinosaurs In Heels

Potential spoilers if you have yet to see “Jurassic World.” Also, go see “Jurassic World.” It’s awesome.

Claire Dearing, played by Bryce Dallas Howard, is a woman in charge. And not in charge of just anything, but in charge of the second iteration of a famous dinosaur amusement park, which is newer and, supposedly, safer than ever. When a mishap leads to (SPOILERS!) the biggest and meanest dino getting loose, she’s forced to run around the park as she helps love interest Owen Grady, played by Chris Pratt, save the day.

Hero indeed. And she does it all in heels. Which is cool, if you overlook the fact that she doesn’t do much? Also, turns out Howard had to specially train for her action sequences because of her wardrobe. Which begs the following questions …

1. Really?

2. There were no extra boots available anywhere around the park?

3. Shouldn’t someone have been in charge of stocking extra field gear?

4. Did Claire actually sprain her ankle about two minutes into the action and just took it like a champ for the rest of the movie?

5. What does it say about Owen’s physical endurance when a person burdened by heels can keep pace with his sprinting?

6. How many toes did she fracture?

7. Will she need podiatric surgery right away, or … ?

8. Is Claire the real hero of “Jurassic World”?

9. Might she have kept a pair of running shoes in her car?

10. If not, couldn’t she have sent someone else to fetch her practical footwear?

11. Or made one of her underlings go tradesies?

12. Doesn’t going barefoot seem preferable to stilettos?

13. Honestly, wouldn’t the heels have just broken off at some point due to the strain?

14. Who designed those things?

15. Are they the real hero of “Jurassic World”?

16. Does she regret the sartorial decisions she made that day?

17. Could the heels have been Claire’s idea of a last-ditch weapon against toothy predators?

18. Would that have justified her wearing them??

The world may never know.

7 Questions To Ask Yourself If Your Relationship Feels Stuck

If your relationship is in trouble, then you have to be willing to admit that whatever you are thinking and feeling and doing is not working. You have to be willing to move your position on some very deep beliefs and long-held emotions and behavioral patterns. When I say “move your position,” I mean that you must be willing to utterly change the way you think, feel, and act in relationship to yourself and your partner. This can be harder than you could ever imagine. I am asking you to give up your security blankets and free-fall. I am asking you to hit the erase button on ideas that you may have been holding for 10, 20, 30 or 40 years. I am asking you to wipe the slate clean and start over in your thinking. Bottom line, I am asking you to believe, once again, that you are a qualified person who deserves a quality relationship. Getting back in touch with your core of consciousness will remind and convince you that there is nothing wrong with you that justifies your having less than a rewarding relationship in which you can live, love, and laugh every day of your life.

Are you ready to embrace a new kind of thinking, a new belief system, a new way of looking at yourself and your partner? To see if you’re ready to move forward, answer the following questions:

1. Can you forget what you think you know about managing relationships?
2. Can you decide to measure the quality of your relationship based on results instead of intentions or promises?
3. Can you decide that you would rather be happy than right?
4. Can you stop playing the blame game and recognize that it is a new day?
5. Can you be willing to move your position on how you approach and engage your partner?
6. Can you be willing to get real and be honest with yourself, about yourself, no matter how painful it is?
7. Can you stop the denial and be completely, totally honest about the state of your current relationship?

I know that right now it may be difficult for you to honestly answer yes to all of those questions. Either way, don’t give up, at least not until I tell you two very important things.

First: It is not too late. If you do not allow yourself to believe and accept that, you will think your way out of this relationship before we have the chance to save it. You may think your relationship has failed, you may feel like you have tried everything, you may feel tired, deflated and defeated, but I’m telling you, you have to get that thought out of your head or you are dead in the water with an anvil tied around your ankle. No matter how many times you’ve been hurt — no matter how many times you’ve been disappointed, no matter how many times you’ve believed it could be different only to be blindsided again — you have to be willing to give yourself one more chance. Even if you have hurt so long and so badly that you aren’t at all sure if you care whether your relationship survives; even if you’re not sure you can ever subject yourself to any more pain from a relationship; even if you do not feel motivated or very hopeful, you can start getting out of your ditch if you will just say to yourself, “I wish I felt good about my relationship again.” That’s all we need. If all you can muster in your mind and heart is to say, “I wish I felt good about this relationship again, and I wish I felt lovingly toward this person again, because I know that at least at one time in my life those emotions felt good,” then that is enough of an ember for us to fan into a flame.

Second: You are not alone. You might feel bewildered and demoralized right now, engulfed by the loneliness that comes with a deteriorating relationship. You may feel intimidated and overwhelmed by what may seem like insurmountable problems or hurts that tend to run so very, very deep. But I want you to know that from now on, you have a partner. You have a partner who is willing to walk with you through this intimidating maze of emotion and who is willing to interact without judgment or criticism, but with the willingness and courage to tell you the truth. I am going to be that partner for you. I have now counseled thousands of people and taught tens of thousands in seminars, helping them create and maintain the key relationships in their lives. I have learned what you know and, more important, what you don’t know about sharing your life with another person. I have designed this approach to meet you at whatever point you find yourself in your relationship and give you the power to make changes — power that can come only from learning the absolute naked, unvarnished truth. Indeed, once you learn the real truth about how you got into this mess, and then once you learn what you can do to get rid of the mess, you will shudder to think you almost walked away. You are closer to success than you could ever imagine, if you just have the courage to get real with yourself.

You must take a stand that you are not going to defy the odds, defy your own insecurities, and defy the conventional wisdom that has failed you so miserably. Set this personal standard for yourself from the very beginning. Adopt a philosophy of passion that says, “I will not quit. I will not allow my hopes and dreams to be pushed aside.” Never forget, this life is your only shot. This is no dress rehearsal. You must be willing to reach for what you want and reach right now. And if you are willing to settle for less, then that is exactly what you will get.

You must not forget about the importance of your relationship with yourself. You must demand nothing less than the best of yourself and for yourself. You must tell yourself that it is not wrong to want it all. It is not wrong to demand dignity, love, honor and romance in your life. You must decide that you are worthy of everything that you want. You must decide that peace, joy, and abundance in a relationship is not just for other people. It is for you. It is not selfish to want it, it is not naive to want it, and it is not immature to expect it. What is immature is to sell out and settle for less than what you really want.

It is not wrong to want, expect, demand, and aspire to a relationship in which you are treated with honor, dignity, and respect. It is not unrealistic to believe that your mate can and should be your soft place to fall. It is not a pipe dream to believe that God has provided for you another person in this world whom you can trust with your most intimate and vulnerable secrets and needs.

I am not suggesting that blind optimism or denial about the risks is the right approach. I am not telling you to pretend that there are not problems, or that they will go away. I am asking you to exercise the belief within yourself that you can do this, and that your relationship can be much better. I have often said, “Sometimes we make the right decision, and sometimes we have to make the decision right.”

You might not like having to blow up a bunch of deceptive but highly destructive myths about what makes a relationship work, and you might not like having to confront the truth about yourself — but I predict that you will love the outcome. You will love that you will be able to reprogram yourself for success rather than failure, that you will be able to go from an individual hoping for a future to an individual making your future happen. And then both you and your partner can begin working to get what you want, to stop the pain that both of you are feeling, and to create more peace, love, and the deepest of joy in your relationship.

9 Questions All Parents Needs To Ask Themselves

As a parent, you’re the head of your family, and therefore you occupy an unbelievably powerful role in shaping the tone, texture, mood and quality of this interconnected and vitally important unit. You’re a system manager. By successfully managing this system, you can parent your way to a phenomenal family — and avoid the problems and erosion seen in so many of the families in your very own neighborhood.

But ask yourself:

1. What kind of family manager have you been up until now?

2. Are you working on a day-to-day basis at managing your family, treating it as a project, giving it the priority it deserves?

2 Things That Set Effective Parents Apart

3. Are you creating a family environment that brings out the best in your child?

4. Do you have the skills necessary to give your child his or her best chance at succeeding in this world?

5. Have you overcome any “family legacy” that has contaminated the way in which you define and parent your family?

6. If the other parent is in the home or active in the children’s lives post-divorce, do the two of you have a parenting plan that provides guidance based on consistent values?

Do You Have The Wrong Priorities As A Parent?

7. Do you have a plan and an objective in mind for what successful parenting is and will yield in your child’s life?

8. Have you created an environment that generates feelings of safety, security, belongingness, self-confidence and strength for the children or children in your charge?

9. Is your family nurturing your child’s individuality and acting to ensure that he or she will become the unique and authentic person God intended?

7 Tools For Parenting With Purpose

You are writing your children’s future with your answers. Those questions are just a beginning of the self-examination you must be willing to do if you’re going to strengthen the foundation on which your children are basing their lives.

If you want a healthy and nurturing family, and successful and productive children, you must commit yourself to acquiring the insight and skills necessary to live the values that you know in your heart are so important.

Modified excerpt from Family First: Your Step-by-Step Plan for Creating a Phenomenal Family by Dr. Phil McGraw (Free Press).

Jay Z Answers A Million & One Questions About TIDAL

Only a potentially monumental business move like purchasing TIDAL can make Jay Z not only tweet but give a rare interview.

Billboard was privy enough to get the exclusively and they so meticulously grilled Mr. Shawn Carter about his revamped music streaming service.

Here are some choice excerpts:

So, Tidal launches today. Creatively, what do you hope happens, beginning tomorrow?

Artists come here and start making songs 18 minutes long, or whatever. I know this is going to sound crazy, but maybe they start attempting to make a “Like a Rolling Stone,” you know, a song that doesn’t have a recognizable hook, but is still considered one of the greatest songs of all time, the freedom that this platform will allow art to flourish here. And we’re encouraging people to put it in any format they like. It doesn’t have to be three minutes and 30 seconds. What if it’s a minute and 17, what if it’s 11; you know, just break format. What if it’s just four minutes of just music and then you start rapping?

What’s been the response from the labels?

I think the labels were a bit suspicious that we were creating a record company. It’s not a record company; if anything, it’s a record store. I have a record company. I don’t want another label. I’m happy with what I’m doing. But some were suspicious. We had talks, like, “Man, you guys also ought to bless this talent. We want you to be involved in this thing as well.” Again, we’re not even against other streaming companies. We want everyone to do well. We just want to carve out our section and let our voice be heard.

So yeah, I think there is a bit of paranoia in the beginning and there may still be, and I think we’ll work through that because it will be a very difficult thing for a label to tell artists when they’re streaming their music everywhere else that they won’t stream it on an artist-owned platform. I don’t see how any label can stand in front of anyone and justify that.

You have a long-standing relationship with Jimmy Iovine. Have you been in contact with him since the news has started trickling out?

Yeah, of course. My thing with Jimmy is, “Listen, Jimmy; you’re Jimmy Iovine, and you’re Apple, and truthfully, you’re great. You guys are going to do great things with Beats, but … you know, I don’t have to lose in order for you guys to win, and let’s just remember that.” Again, I’m not angry. I actually told him, “Yo, you should be helping me. This is for the artist. These are people that you supported your whole life. You know, this is good.”

5 Types of Questions to Avoid Asking Your Young Relatives at Passover and Easter

With Passover and Easter coming up, young adults’ thoughts turn to going home. For many, it also turns their stomach as they fear the questions well-meaning relatives will ask. They fall into four categories: housing, careers, relationships, and having children.

On the one hand, it seems that there’s nothing to talk about if you avoid the major basic decisions of life. On the other hand, there are many ways to connect over common interests — have you had any good hikes recently? Read any good books? Seen any good shows?

Avoid asking:

1. When are you moving out of your parents home? Are you still living in that awful apartment?

Implied in these questions is you’re doing something temporary or wrong. Some people love living at home. Others are making wise financial decisions to save money for a start-up or to pay off debt. And others are in transition and will move when they can. Young adults don’t need you to pressure them.

2. When are you going to get a real job? When are you going to make real money?

Again, you have no idea what motivates people to choose certain jobs or where they’re heading in their careers. Some of the most meaningful and best jobs don’t pay well, especially at the entry-level. Sometimes internships are required to open doors – even though they don’t pay. Sometimes low-paying jobs are the most valuable to society. Where would we be without teachers, social workers, and government employees? Besides, all knowledge is useful. One can learn a lot from any job. Don’t blame the young adult for the way society values people’s labor power.

3. Are you seeing anyone? Do you plan to marry?

While you as a relative may be truly interested, the young person may feel that the question is intrusive. The whole timetable has shifted, and lifestyle options have increased. These young people are working out their own expectations, even if they’re not meeting yours.

4. Have you tried… changing your hairstyle, losing weight, joining a fitness club?

Do we need to explain this one? Asking someone to change themselves implies that they are not adequate the way they are.

5. When are you going to have kids? Do you realize your biological clock is ticking? Are you planning to freeze your eggs or sperm? Have you thought about becoming a single parent?

Reproduction is a private matter. Stay away — you will be informed as needed.

Although you may be genuinely caring, your questions may be perceived as criticisms.

If you are a recipient of these questions, try to shift the conversation to something you do want to talk about. Or you can deflect the conversation by asking about their lives — for example, asking about what the dating scene was like in their day. You can say, “Thanks for asking, but nothing’s new. I am sure the grapevine will get to you if there’s any big happenings.” Humor is always a great relief. And if all else fails, suggest you watch the ball game together.
