Tory Lanez “Temperature Rising,” Machine Gun Kelly “Bloody Valentine” & More | Daily Visuals 5.20.20
Gotta give it to Tory Lanez. Even during this quarantining period which has slowed up many artists grinds around the game, he’s not only managed to keep himself in the spotlight with his Quarantine Radio live shows, but he’s even dropped a few visuals along the way.
Today the Canadian crooner comes through with his latest clip to “Temperature Rising” where he not only ditches the whole notion of social distancing, but even swaps saliva with a sexy young lady. We hope she got tested for COVID-19 before they filmed this video, bro! Wonder if he found her on Quarantine Radio.
Machine Gun Kelly meanwhile continues to go the Hip-Pop or Rock-Pop route and for his visuals to “Bloody Valentine” finds himself at the mercy of an abusive Megan Fox. Not many men would complain about being in such a “dire” situation. Just sayin.’
Check out the rest of today’s drops including work from Reason featuring ScHoolboy Q, Sosamann, and more.

The 2019 Folio: 100 and Rising Stars Honorees Keep It Short and Sweet
Perhaps catering to the fact that the average human attention span is now a mere eight seconds, the 2019 Class of Folio: 100 and Rising Star Honorees were asked to accept their awards with 10 words or less.
Many of the winning media types, c-suite executives, strategists and up-and-comers proved that they were up for the challenge at Thursday afternoon’s event at the Hilton Hotel in New York. In doing so, they demonstrated while content is still king, conciseness reigns supreme — especially in a roomful of newsmakers. Given that, organizers kept the post-lunch acceptance speeches moving with their novel approach. The Halloween event capped off the two-day, “The Folio: Show,” which had the ominous endgame of transforming publishing.
That undeniably is one tall order, but a slew of media representatives were honored. Meredith’s president and chief digital officer Catherine Levene, Paul Jowdy, chief business officer and publisher of WWD + Fairchild Live, The Nation’s Erin O’Mara, Fast Company’s publisher Amanda Smith and Bauer Media Group USA’s Jeff Wellington were among the c-suite winners that made their way to the podium. One of the honorees, Time’s chief people officer Sue Suh, hinted at the media landscape’s reinvention. She said, “I love that

Taylor Gang’s Own J.R. Donato, Rising To The Top
By: Jonathan Bolarinwa
Chicago has always bred some top notch emcees; from the likes of Common, Twista and Kanye West, to new artists like Lil’ Durk, Lil’ Herb, King Louie and more. Each fighting to keep Chi-town’s unique sound ringing in the Midwest.
Enter Taylor Gang’s newest edition, 21-year-old artist J.R. Donato. The Northside native is currently promoting Fast Money and Freedom, his new EP, which details his decade long career up to this point. Songs like “I Suppose,” Mad At Me,” and “Life So Sweet,” highlight his versatility as he lays out different emotions in each verse.
AllHipHop.com had a chance to talk with J.R., picking his brain a little to find out just what we should stay tuned for.
AHH: What was it like coming up in Chicago, and how do you think it’s prepared you as an artist moving forward?
J.R.:Chicago showed me it won’t be easy coming up, that nothing is easy and nothing is given to you. You have to grind to get where you’re going and there’s gonna be ups and downs no matter what. It made me stronger mentally. Chicago is by far one of the toughest cities to make it out of. They say if you can make it out of Chicago you can make it out of anywhere… I believe that.
AHH: Who were your influences coming up?
J.R: Tupac, Lil Wayne, Eminem, Wiz Khalifa, Jay-Z, & 50 Cent.
AHH: How did you hook up with Twista?
J.R: We connected through his management and him seeing me on the come up throughout Chicago.
AHH: Last year, you released your project North Pole which had features from Iamsu, Ab Soul, and Wiz Khalifa. How’d you link with them for the project?
J.R: Iamsu is one of the homies, we linked on the second Under the Influence of Music tour. We were just recording in the back of the bus and made it happen. I feel like it’s a hit and wish I didn’t put it on North Pole. When you’re traveling with Wiz ain’t no telling who you might end up in the studio with. We recorded “Should’ve Never” in New York. If I’m not mistaken it was Madison Square Garden area. It was Wiz song. I told him about the idea of it being an outro on my project and he said “the song is yours.”
AHH: How’d you link with Taylor Gang?
J.R: We met when I was networking in Atlanta with my manager Jah Spice.
AHH: What’s the difference between the previous project and this new one?
J.R: Fast Money & Freedom is a more detailed, in depth look at where and what I come from, and also why I am the way I am. On top of that I didn’t want any features except my homie Cody Blankz, because North Pole was full of features. I just wanted to show I can create great music on my own.
AHH: What was it like working with one producer, Sledgren, on Fast Money & Freedom?
J.R:It’s dope, you get to create your own sound. On top of that Sledgren is one of the dopest producers out there, so that’s a plus. It was fun working with Sledgren cause he hears things/sounds that most people or producers don’t. He knows what kind of beats I like or that trippy sound I’m going for, so when I hear the beats I zone out and it’s like “yeah… we did that!” He knows my direction with my music so it always works out when we come together on a track. Having an EP out with him is huge in my eyes. When you hear his name you think of Kush & OJ. Now you can think of Fast Money & Freedom as well.
AHH: How would you define your sound and what makes it unique from anything else that’s out now?
J.R:I sound like myself. These days that’s not easy. The line for originality is thin, but I think I can walk that line fine. Also all my music has a message in it so it’s always relatable, and that’s what the game needs.
Check the Taylor Gang emcee out in full here.

Using A Straight Guy With Jay Rising
I met this trashy individual when I was helping shoot some scenes in Vegas and I could never stop staring at his monstrous cock. Coincidentally he only lives a state over and was looking for some work so I was happy to help out. Normally I dont go for gay-for-pay guys because theyre usually terrible at gay sex, but after watching him fuck so many other dudes I had to know what it was like to have that large penis in all of my orifices. It was the best feeling to know it was excruciating for him and pure ecstasy for me.

Temperature’s Rising: superHERO
I don’t care what anyone says…the pop singers of the 90’s were far superior to whatever the hell the kids are listening to today. A greatest hits album of The Backstreet Boys shits all over anything that One Direction, Selena Gomez, or The Jonas Brothers have released. I’ll admit, if God put me in a cave and gave me 24 hours to think of the name of a song by either of these artists, I wouldn’t be able to. (I do remember that One Direction had a song a while back that was all over the radio, but I can’t even remember the name of it at the moment, honest to God). Why don’t I just Google it right now, you ask? Because my mother taught me not to waste time looking for waste. Whatever it was, I’m 100% sure it couldn’t hold “I Want It That Way’s” metaphorical jockstrap. Which, if you think about it, is the ultimate diss. Not a lot of people would want to hold another person’s jockstrap even if they really could carry it, but not being able to hold something that doesn’t really exist is the lowest of the low.
Honestly, the previous paragraph (or rant) is 1 degree away from being a non sequitur, or maybe less, as it doesn’t have all that much to do with superHero. But unlike a lot of 90’s babies, superHero definitely don’t take themselves too seriously, and their debut album, entitled The Middle, is reminiscent of Kidz In The Hall combined with Madvillian MF DOOM and a splash of Madlib during the Quasimoto days. I won’t lie, when I first saw the video of “Lifted,” I missed the dope music being played because I was so distracted by the outfits. However, these dudes, hailing from Hotlanta (the birthplace of some of the most unique acts of the genre) have skill. Stripped down lyricism with a few flashy frills, superHero has, appropriately enough, a superhero theme, with the duo never hesitating to sample from classic superhero movies and share their love of the genre. It makes for cinematic listening a la early Wu-Tang records, and adds a further degree of pizzazz to the duo’s arrangements.
Beyond the pizzazz effect (after all, what really is pizzazz?) superHero are brashly pushing the boundaries on what hip hop can be by ushering in an extra level of aggression to make their beats all the more engaging, and furthermore, inspiring. With The Middle, essentially, superHero have optimized their lyrical content and implementation of hooks to put together a package the world has yet to witness. There is something strangely gravitational about what superHero do on The Middle, making for some of the most enjoyable hip hop I’ve heard this year.
You can stream The Middle below:
As always, if you are feeling superHero, make sure to track their movements on the interwebs:

Temperature’s Rising: Frank Peters
Drake and Meek shocked the world when they engaged in a heated battle on wax, so much so that NPR even felt compelled to weigh in on the story. In the 90’s, aggression in hip-hop was the norm, but somewhere in the mid-2000’s it devolved into mainly “party music,” without an ounce of ingenuity of Kurtis Blow or Dougie Fresh. However, in the last few years, rappers put a high premium on aggressive lyrics, and emcee’s are once again hungry to compete to be unanimously named the “greatest rapper alive.”
While most of the hip-hop world has never heard of Frank Peters, his music is imbued with that same sort of raw energy that the genre had been missing for an extended period of time. And unlike D4L and the like, Peters’ “party music” has an edge to it– equipped with real-talk in place of the standard contrived lyrics that litter the radio. In 2013, he was named by both VH1 and MTV as “Artist To Watch,” and has opened for the likes of Juicy J, Lil Kim, and Afroman (yes, he is still around). Back in 2005, he got his first real wind after headlining Urban Exposure in London. For Peters, music should encompass life itself– fun at times but also cognizant of the unfortunate realities we are all forced to deal with from time to time.
Although he has been in the game quite a while, his star is steadily rising: “There’s no quitting, if I was gonna do that I would have done that a long time ago. My music is new, fresh and chock full of Cha”RIZZ”ma.” With a minimum of twelve singles listed on Reverbnation, along with almost twenty hip hop videos floating around on Youtube, it is safe to say that Frank Peters could be hip-hop’s next big thing. According to Cynthia Kahn (no, not Chaka Chaka Kahn), Founder of Amused Now Entertainment: “I listened to all Frank Peters’ songs on ReverbNation and his approach to rap is quite unique My favorite single is Getting It In, because he leads with one of my favorite Led Zeppelin songs Living Loving Maid (She’s Just A Woman), something you definitely would not expect to hear from a rap artist. I also love Frank Peters’ single Until 2Marrow, because of the amazing singing by Venom Vendetta, the song’s producer, at the beginning of the song and throughout the chorus. Frank Peters is extremely talented.”
With the release of 2015’s Fifty Shades of Frank, Peters is looking to capitalize on his current momentum, while simultaneously introducing himself to the people who might not be aware of his music, such as “American Interlude.” Not quite like any of his previous projects, the album features a plethora of flows and catchy instrumentals, like the perfect meshed-vibe of “Ambitionz.” However, there be no better example of Peters’ overall agenda (fusing the old-school party aesthetic of early hip-hop with gritty lyricism) than “Get It Right.” Everyday, I’m flooded with tweets by rappers/beatmakers trying to get on, so I listen to more amateurish sounding music than a healthy person should. However, Peters’ Fifty Shades of Frank is honestly one of the most intriguing projects I’ve come across this year. But who gives a fuck what I think? Listen for yourselves.
Almost forgot. If you are a fellow digger of Peters’ music, make sure to follow his movements on the interwebs:

News in Brief: Bobby Jindal Vows To Return America To Time When He Was Rising Republican Star
CLEVELAND—Hailing the bygone era as a golden age of opportunity, Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal spent his opening remarks during Thursday’s GOP debate vowing to return America to a time when he was a rising star within the Republican Party. “I want to bring America back to its best days, back when our future as a nation looked bright and I was widely considered to be the leading voice of a new generation of conservatives,” said Jindal, emphasizing that the country had strayed too far from the halcyon days that Americans enjoyed for a brief period in early 2009. “Comparing our nation today to where it was during that idyllic time when I was being touted as a potential heir to the Ronald Reagan legacy, anyone can plainly see that the most powerful country in the world has lost its way and replaced hopefulness and optimism with utter despair …
