For those of you still wondering, yes, Empire still comes on, and during last night’s episode, fans were told to “Get ready for the shocking final three episodes of Empire.” Deadline is reporting the episode that airs on April 21 will be the final one.
Per Deadline:
“The last completed episode before the coronavirus-imposed production shutdown, Episode 18, which is scheduled to air on April 21, is now set to be the premature end of Empire. To help create a more seamless overall ending, we hear this newly minted finale will likely feature footage from Episode 19, which was halfway through filming when the health crisis paused all Hollywood production. The show’s long intended ending, the series finale Episode 20, will never see the light of day for the once blockbuster.”
The show’s final season already underwent massive changes due to Jussie Smollett getting the boot following his staged homophobic attack, and now the coronavirus is the latest monkey wrench thrown into the shows cogs. But don’t fret when Empire goes away that doesn’t mean you will have seen the last of fan-favorite, Cookie Lyons.
Deadline reported back in January that FOX is considering the idea of Taraji P.Henson led spinoff of Empire that will see Cookie return and showrunners Lee Daniels and Danny Strong are very intrigued by the plan.

The NBA suspended its season until further notice after a Jazz player — Rudy Gobert, according to sources — tested positive for the coronavirus. www.espn.com – TOP
The NBA season is done. The pro basketball league has suspended the 2019-2020 season after Rudy Gobert tested positive for the Coronavirus, which has now been classified as a pandemic.
The NBA reported that a Utah Jazz player had tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19), and they got word of it before the Jazz were set to play the Oklahoma City Thunder. Although the player was not in the arena, the game was still canceled.
“The NBA is suspending game play following the conclusion of tonight’s schedule of games until further notice,” reads the statement, released shortly before 10pm ET. “The NBA will use this hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic.”
USA Today reported that a person familiar with the situation confirmed that it was Rudy Gobert. Earlier in the day, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver held a conference call to discuss the next steps of dealing with the coronavirus. Most were said to be on board to suspend play or move forward with only essential personnel in arenas. But word is the Knicks were the only team who wanted to remain business as usual until the government issued some sort of mandate, per ESPN.
Several teams were willing to put the games on hiatus, but the rest wanted to move toward eliminating fans from arenas to continue playing games, sources tell ESPN. One team wanted to keep status quo until a governmental/public mandate dictated change: The New York Knicks.
Earlier in the day, the NCAA announced that only essential staff and family would be allowed to attend the Men’s Basketball tournament games, putting a damper on March Madness.
In a sick twist of fate, it was Gobert who joked about the coronavirus by touching all the mics in front of him at the conclusion of a post-game presser a few days. Not so funny now—and life comes at you fast.

The stakes are high for the 2019 holiday shopping season.
Notably, the holiday shopping period from Thanksgiving to Christmas is six days shorter than 2018, giving brands and retailers less time to cash in.
To counter the time crunch, retailers and brands have been offering promotions and sales earlier than ever to give shoppers ample time to stock up on their holiday gifts. Cult-favorite skin-care brand Deciem, for one, is offering promotions throughout November.
Read on for seven ways the 2019 holiday shopping season will be different from past years.

With Black Friday falling on Nov. 29, the 2019 holiday shopping season is six days shorter than last year’s, meaning brands and retailers have less time to grab shoppers during the traditional holiday shopping period between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Some are countering this by extending the timeframe of the holiday shopping period to begin at the start of November with promotions and savings. RetailMeNot, a savings provider that connects consumer with retailers and brands, unofficially kicked off the holiday shopping season on Nov. 7 with its new shopping “holiday,” Cash Back Day.

Before Apple drops macOS Catalina, the company announced it has updated its MacBook Air and MacBook Pro with new hardware and even a price cut, right on time for back-to-school season.
Today (July 9 ) Apple announced it has updated the MacBook Air will now be adding True Tone to its Retina Display to give users “a more natural viewing experience.” The price for the air is also being lowered to $ 1,099 ($ 999 if you’re a college student). This update follows the announcement of the company’s new Air model it unveiled last year, October in Brooklyn.
Source: Apple
The 13-inch MacBook Pro won’t see a price cut but will now have the latest 8th-generation quad-core processors, which will make it “two-times more powerful than before” as well as Touch ID, a True Tone Retina display and the Apple T2 Security Chip. The uber-popular model will also come with a Touch Bar and Touch ID completely doing away with the previous models that did not feature the Touch Bar. The entry-level model will cost $ 1,299 ($ 1,199 for students) if you are looking at the 8GB of ram and 128GB SSD model, the price bumps up to $ 1,499 for 256GB.
This might be the first time the Air looks more attractive than the Pro model based on what you’re are getting for the money you are spending. Apple also announced that both models will be a part of its back-to-school promotion which will include a pair of Beats Studio 3 Wireless headphones with qualifying Mac purchases.
Tom Boger, Apple’s senior director of Mac Product Marketing on the updates:
“College students love the Mac — it’s the notebook they rely on from the dorm room to the classroom, and the No. 1 choice among higher education students. With a lower $ 999 student price for MacBook Air and the updated 13-inch MacBook Pro with faster performance, Touch Bar and Touch ID at $ 1,199 for students, there’s never been a better time to bring a Mac to college.”
