Model Behati Prinsloo Teams With Seven For All Mankind

LUCKY SEVEN: Model Behati Prinsloo won’t have a Super Bowl-sized audience like her husband Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levin did last weekend, but she is front-and-center for Seven For All Mankind.
The model is the focus of the Los Angeles-based denim and lifestyle brand’s spring campaign. Lensman Guy Aroch shot her along the California coast for the third installment of #wearemankind. The model is a familiar face with the fashion crowd, having worked with Victoria’s Secret, Elizabeth Arden and Swarovski, among others.
As a jeans kind of girl, she modeled styles with denim side stripes, fringe accents, unexpected soft fabrics and pops of color. Malcolm Jackson, Ali Tate Cutler, Alicia Herbeth and Josh Upshaw rounded out her supporting cast for the Delta Galil Industries-owned label. This time around, the “We Are Mankind” initiative plays up the layers that make up individuals. The brand will also be adding new denim and ready-to-wear styles for women and men.
Executives at the denim label met the model in October and appreciated “her genuine obsession with denim and admiration for Seven For All Mankin,” a company spokeswoman said. “What we love most about Behati is that she is more than meets the eye, beyond being in this

When second son Alexander Valentine loses his brother to an assassin’s arrow, he discovers that his family protects an ancient secret and reluctantly finds himself at the center of the final battle of a war that was supposed to have ended two thousand years ago. Pursued by the dark minions of an ancient enemy, Alexander flees to the mountain city of Glen Morillian where he discovers that he is the heir to the throne of Ruatha, one of the Seven Isles, but before he can claim the throne he must recover the ancient Thinblade. Seven were forged by the first Sovereign of the Seven Isles and bound to the bloodline of each of the seven Island Kings in exchange for their loyalty to the Old Law. Each sword is as long as a man’s arm, as wide as a man’s thumb and so thin it can’t be seen when viewed from the edge. Thinblade is the story of Alexander’s quest to find the ancient sword, claim the throne of Ruatha and raise an army to stand against the enemy that has awoken to claim dominion over all of the Seven Isles.

Alexis Levine has just graduated from high school and intends to join the Army as soon as she turns eighteen. Her dream is to become a sniper, just like her often absent father. During routine weapons practice, she meets Mark Steel, the head of a small team of agents who work for a mysterious organization. He needs someone with outstanding skills to help his squad destroy seven psychotic psychics. With her father overseas on a mission, she is the next best choice. Still reeling from the knowledge that psychics actually exist, Lexi agrees to become a temporary member of their team. From the first moment that she meets Reece Garrett, she is instantly drawn to him. He is strong, sexy and charismatic and unfortunately thinks of her as little more than a child. Agent Garrett and his team have a secret that few people are aware of. They are shape shifters who transform into ravenous beasts with every full moon. The upside of being shifters is that they possess a natural resistance to mind control, which makes them the perfect team to hunt the psychics. But Reece soon learns that some instincts are impossible for even him to deny. Caught in a mind trap that he can't escape from, he finds himself irresistibly drawn to the newest member of the team.

The first corpse found was "Gluttony," and soon the detectives find more: a lawyer killed because of his Greed; an insurance scammer killed for his Sloth; a fashion model killed for her Pride. Each murder scene is elaborately planned, the victims chosen specifically because of who they are, and posed methodically in death. With time running out for the last two possible victims — Envy and Wrath — can Sommerset and Mills get ahead of the killer before his final two acts come to deadly fruition? THIS IS A NOVELLA LENGTH TITLE AND THE FIRST PART OF THE SEVEN DAYS SERIES but can be read as a stand alone or as the first book in the series It contains 18+ content. Friends with benefits is fine for some but what happens when a threesome turns into a bizarre love triangle? Twenty-one year old Sadie Cooper has been too scared to step outside her comfort zone for most of her life. Having lived quietly with her now deceased mother, Sadie finds new experiences difficult. She likes being a homebody, even if it's little predictable at times. She likes boring because boring is safe. It's easy to plan for boring. Nicholas Lawson has other ideas for Sadie, however. From the moment they meet on the beach, the chemistry between them is evident and Sadie finds herself feeling things she’s only ever read about in books. Nicholas only has to say how high and Sadie is willing to jump. And fall. Nicholas can coax Sadie into doing things she's never dreamed of… like having a threesome with him and best mate Joel. Sure, Sadie’s attracted to Joel. Insanely so. She might even love him a little if he wasn’t so damn annoying. Joel's cute and funny, not to mention rather charismatic. But Joel openly admits he's into 'bedding not wedding'. He’s not the relationship kind. And Sadie most definitely is. A harmless bit of fun can get very sticky when love enters the room.

Uniqlo parent Fast Retailing and Seven & i Holdings are planning a business partnership that could result in a new clothing brand; the ability for Uniqlo customers to pick up their orders from a 7-Eleven convenience stores in Japan; and shared logistics and distribution efforts. A spokesman for Fast Retailing confirmed a local press report that the two Japanese companies are in talks, but still in “very early stages,” and therefore specifics have not yet been decided. Seven & i has been upping its fashion game recently. Earlier this year it announced it had tapped Jean Paul Gaultier to design a capsule collection for the retailer’s Sogo, Seibu and Ito Yokado this coming fall. Shoppers will also be able to order the collection online and pick up the goods at 7-Elevens in Japan.

Seven Cartoon Characters Who Might be on the Autism Spectrum

2015-07-02-1435863470-3995659-depositphotoanimatedtelev1.jpg 2015-07-02-1435863503-6002835-depositphotos_46884227Collectiblesmurfcharacters1.jpg 2015-07-02-1435863535-2635888-depositphotos_48404605CookieMonster.jpg
“Mom, I think that person has autism,” says my 10-year-old son Noah. And because his brother Evan is on the spectrum, he has developed an intuitive ability to detect even the most subtle signs of autism.

Sometimes Noah notices an inability to decipher social cues. Sometimes it’s an unusual speech pattern or a repetitive behavior. Once it was something as simple as a mother holding the hand of her young teenage boy.

Noah’s A-dar* got me thinking about which cartoon characters might have an autism diagnosis if such a thing existed in the world of animation. But then, like every responsible attorney, realized I probably should include some sort of disclaimer.

Caution: This post is intended for people who have an appreciation for sarcasm and humor.Yes, I know that autism is a pervasive developmental disorder characterized by deficits in social interaction and communication, a limited range of activities and interests and often the presence of repetitive behaviors. And I know that if a person exhibits one or even some of these traits, it does not necessarily mean he/she has autism. But, for the fun of it, I have diagnosed seven cartoon characters who meet at least one of the criteria for autism. Just remember; sarcasm and humor – or at least one mom’s attempt at it.

1. Cookie Monster Not only does this Sesame Street character exhibit a significant preoccupation with cookies, but his expressive language is significantly delayed when compared to his monster peers. Like many on the spectrum, if he had his way and the writers didn’t cave in to pressures to make him eat healthier, Cookie Monster would happily live on a self-restricted diet consisting of only his preferred food.

2. Schroeder, the object of Lucy’s unrequited affection, is a precocious piano playing prodigy. His savant skills are perfect, and his knowledge of all things Beethoven are nothing less than impressive. Typically, Schroeder is content to play his music and engages in very little on-going dialogue. He can, however, become easily agitated if either his piano playing or his idol Beethoven are criticized.

3. One of the 101 Dalmatians. The prevalence of autism is 1 in 68. Statistically speaking, if you have 101 Dalmatians, chances are at least one of them will fall somewhere on the spectrum.

4. Tigger clearly has issues with attention and focus. With all his bouncing around, we can also speculate that his sensory-seeking behaviors are indicative of an autism diagnosis.

5. Elmer Fudd Forget about the fact that he really needs a good speech pathologist, the guy is obsessed with killing a rabbit. Does he even talk about anything else, ever?

6. Brainy Smurf is a know-it-all intellectual who isn’t afraid to impart his wisdom upon the entire Smurf clan Do they want it? Mostly they don’t, so it’s not unusual for Brainy to be kicked outside the village or smacked over the head with a mallet. Despite the abuse, he remains oblivious to the fact that his fellow Smurfs have no interest in his “wisdom.”

7. SpongeBob wins the award for having the most characteristics of autism. Although hyperactive, he is extremely focused and determined and will do whatever it takes to accomplish a goal. Often, he is oblivious to impending danger, and his lack of awareness tends to put him and others at risk for harm. He has a hard time detecting lies, and his kind-hearted and innocent nature means he is nice to everyone, notably those who are not always kind to him. SpongeBob also has anxiety. He is especially anxious about clowns and the dark.

*A-dar is a made-up term used to refer to someone with an intuitive ability to identify an individual on the autism spectrum.

Which cartoon characters would you add to this list?

The Seven Lamps of Architecture is an extended essay, first published in May 1849 and written by the English art critic and theorist John Ruskin. The 'lamps' of the title are Ruskin's principles of architecture, which he later enlarged upon in the three-volume The Stones of Venice. [1] To an extent, they codified some of the contemporary thinking behind the Gothic Revival. At the time of its publication A. W. N. Pugin and others had already advanced the ideas of the Revival and it was well under way in practice. Ruskin offered little new to the debate, but the book helped to capture and summarise the thoughts of the movement. The Seven Lamps also proved a great popular success, and received the approval of the ecclesiologists typified by the Cambridge Camden Society, who criticised in their publication The Ecclesiologist lapses committed by modern architects in ecclesiastical commissions.

How One Artist Paid Homage To Seven Generations Of Women In Her Family

Artist Christine H McConnell has managed to revive 200 years of family history, paying tribute to the women who came before her with just a touch of photoshop magic. And it all started with a red dress.

Left: McConnell’s mother, Kathryn (born 1957). Right: McConnell, wearing the same red dress two and a half decades later.

The story goes: McConnell’s mother, Kathryn, waited 25 years to gift her daughter the red dress pictured above. McConnell’s father had purchased the piece of clothing as a small gesture following the death of Kathryn’s own mother. Kathryn was photographed wearing the “extravagant” outfit when she was just 32 years old. When McConnell finally inherited the bit of family memorabilia, an idea was born. Why not recreate the photo she had loved since childhood by slipping into the garment and posing just like her mother?

Recreate it she did, and the homage didn’t end there. The artist decided to go back in time a few more generations, all the way back to her great-great-great-grandmother, Martha, born in 1821. Like she did for her mother, McConnell dons clothing and hairstyles similar to her relatives up to five generations ago, mimicking the postures and expressions they flashed before the camera centuries before her.

“Many of these images had been hanging in the house as long as I’ve been around and I only had a vague understanding of who there were,” McConnell recalled in an email to The Huffington Post. “After sifting through old scrap books and documents my mother had, I began to get a better sense of who they were. The oldest image is of my great-great-great grandmother Martha who was born in Allen, Kentucky in 1821. It’s very possible her parents were among the first settlers in that area.”

After recreating the portraits of her great-great-grandmother, great-grandmother and grandmother too, McConnell added a photograph of herself and a cheeky image of her future daughter. For the latter, she used a stock photo of a horse. Why? “It’s a joke on the fact that I have a horse-like face. Which I should mention I don’t take as an insult… horses are very pretty.”

Jane, great-great-grandmother (born 1858).

The results are gorgeously photoshopped portraits that mine one woman’s family tree.

“I would say my biggest takeaway from this project is how I can see different features of my face in each of the women shown, eyebrows here, a smile there,” she concluded. “It’s shown me how strange genetics are and how lucky I am to be here at all. So many people and so many choices had to come about and even the slightest change would have meant me never existing. I find that fascinating.”

Seven Questions With Tim O’Brien

Tim O’Brien has been called a lot of things throughout his musical career, which spans more than four decades: newgrass, bluegrass, singer, songwriter, mandolin aficionado.

He has been called a lot of things because, well, he does a lot of things.

In fact, O’Brien may be eclipsing fellow Earl of Leicester Jerry Douglas as the self-described busiest bluegrass musician today.

Fresh off a tour of summer festivals, including DelFest, MerleFest, Rocky Grass, Rooster Walk and Telluride, with Darrell Scott, promoting their 2014 album Memories and Moments, O’Brien is promoting another new album, When I’m Free, which he recorded with Hot Rize. It’s the first collaboration he’s had with his former band mates in 24 years. And when he can fit it in, he’s jamming with the aforementioned Douglas and the other Earls of Leicester, who also have a new album.

But O’Brien is not too busy to come back to Henry County, Virginia, which he calls “a beautiful spot,” for an appearance at the Rives Theatre in downtown Martinsville on Feb. 26, 2015.

I had a chance to catch up with O’Brien in Henry County over Memorial Day weekend at Rooster Walk 6, where we talked about the future of bluegrass and why Americana music seems to resonate with an expanding audience.

Why do you think Americana/bluegrass music is experiencing a resurgence in popularity?

There’s a shift away from the “popization” of Nashville. Music trends tend to correct themselves. People start imitating each other, and then someone has to come up with something different. Like Taylor Swift came along and gave Nashville a kick in the pants. Ten years ago Oh Brother, Where Art Thou? was the most popular record, but it wasn’t meant to be. It shows that classic style is always viable. Music goes in and out like waves from the ocean. It takes a while for it to come in, and it will crash over you when you least expect it. I think the roots never really die. It’s hard to kill them, because they are really deep. The stuff you hear on the radio, there’s roots in that too. Every once in a while the roots become the most tasty thing.

What do you enjoy the most about playing live music festivals?

I love hearing the other groups and seeing what people are into, the crafts. I love that the festivals are multigenerational. The great thing about these festivals is I like it when everyone can hang out together. Bluegrass has been that way. I used to play a lot of shows for mostly old people, but when you play at festivals like MerleFest, that’s the key to keep it going. I liked the traditional and the blues tents. My favorite thing at MerleFest was the Alberti Flea Circus. It’s so old-timey, so corny and wonderful.

So what’s your impression of Rooster Walk?

The music is a little more hybridized nowadays. There are traditional bluegrass festivals, and there are big rock-and-roll festivals, and this is kind of in-between. It seems to be a real popular format. If you average it out, Telluride would be kind of like this. It’s interesting. It’s whatever the audience responds to, and it’s also what the new musicians are coming up with that drives it all. They bring along their audience and their age group. These kids [Sanctum Sully] mentioned our name and said we’re going to play later on. It’s nice to get a nod from them. We’re all part of a tradition. I think it’s a very healthy thing to see this crowd out here with the kids.

Why did you choose to play Rooster Walk this year instead of the larger, more established FloydFest?

FloydFest is the same weekend as Rocky Grass. I’m kind of a perennial at Rocky Grass, and I’ve done them both, and it’s hard. I’m 60, and it’s too hard.

What’s your favorite summer music festival?

I like Strawberry. I like Rocky Grass. I like the size, and there’s a lot of pickin’ in the campground, not just by the performers. I’ve gone to the Bonnaroos and the Stage Coaches, and I’d rather go to Rooster Walk.

Who are some of your favorite new artists?

Cahalen Morrison & Eli West duo. I also like Lake Street Dive. They are coming on strong.

If you had a chance to play with anyone, dead or alive, who would it be?

The Count Basie Band. I would love to be their rhythm-guitar player for just a night.

Watch What Happens When Seven Cosby Accusers Come Together (VIDEO)

For the first time, seven accusers in the Bill Cosby scandal come together to share their alleged encounters with the comedian, whom they accuse of drugging and/or sexually assaulting them.

In this video from Dr. Phil airing on Friday, several of the women respond to Cosby’s daughter Evin’s statement questioning the validity of the women’s allegations that they were drugged.

One woman tells Dr. Phil, “A body knows when it’s raped. You’re not only raped physically, but you are raped emotionally. And something in your spirit is gone forever. And he is a serial rapist. We all have that same thing in common. We all feel that.”

Another adds in tears: “I think that the more I personally talk about this, hopefully it will dissipate. And I won’t have to carry the shame anymore. And I would just like to say, Bill and Camille Cosby, shame on you, shame on you shame, shame on you, shame on you!”

Tune in Friday for a Dr. Phil exclusive: Another woman comes forward, accusing Cosby of drugging her. Plus, attorney Gloria Allred weighs in, and Kathleen Phelps, a former Playboy bunny, shares details of her close non-sexual friendship with Cosby and defends him as a respectable, stand-up guy.
