Of Course ‘SNL’ Clowned Kanye West & Donald Trump’s Oval Office Shenanigans [Video]

Kanye & Trump SNL parody

Source: NBC screen cap / NBC

Kanye West embarrassed himself while visiting the Oval Office and performing a minstrel show on Thursday (Oct. 11). So it was a given that Saturday Night Live would recreate their bizarre at best lovefest.

With Alec Baldwin once again playing Donald Trump and Chris Redd portraying Kanye West, the jokes were flying.

The conclusion, Yeezy is the Black version of Cheeto. “Oh my God, he’s Black me,” said SNL Trump (in his inner voice) after witnessing a man with an ego and narcissism to match.

All things considered, where is the lie?

Worth noting is that Baldwin also included a nod to his headass notion that Black people love him because of Trump portrayal.

Also, props to the SNL writer who include the “scoopity dee whoop” Yeezy lyrics slander (see: “Lift Yourself”).

Emmys overdose on ‘SNL,’ as ‘Game of Thrones’ breaks up streaming party

There were two near-takeovers at the Emmys on Monday, as streaming services expanded their impact on the awards, while “Saturday Night Live” permeated the ceremony. The former likely magnified the issue of viewers watching a parade of winners from relatively little-seen programs — with “Game of Thrones” a notable exception — and the latter yielded a flawed, haphazard show, which badly overplayed some of its bits.

Nicki Minaj is making up for lost time with the impending release of her still-unnamed fourth studio album, with “Chun Li” and “Barbie Tingz” smashing the Internets and sparking renewed interest. The Queens superstar took to Twitter Sunday night to announce a world tour, and also said she’ll be rolling out new music for the season finale of Saturday Night Live this weekend.

“All ima say is this tour is [row of emojis] and if u miss it, don’t be mad at Chun. Be mad at YOU! Chun gave u ALLLL the time in the world. This album so [row of prayer hand emojis] AAAAHHHHHHHH!!!! I can’t take it,” Minaj tweeted Sunday evening.

She followed with, “US first. Then ALL AROUND THE WORLD. BUT THERE’S another surprise you won’t know. Bwahaaahahaaaaaa. The ones at the tour will be elevated to Team Minaj ELITE. Yes, I’m leaning towards M&G’s. Only cuz my babies been so patient. But pls don’t hold me to it. Love, #ChunLi”

As expected, the Barbz lost their minds over the news, but there was far more to go. When a fan asked about her upcoming SNL performance, she let one proverbial cat out the bag.

“I’ll perform a song you never heard b4. My fave on the album. plus my second song. You can prob guess what that’s gonna be,” Minaj replied. A fan, truly trying to get the scoop, asked Minaj what the track number of the song would be, getting the reply of “#1” which suggests the song is the intro to the new project.

We’ve posted Nicki Minaj’s emoji-laden and fun-loving tweets below, along with some reaction on the flip.

Amy Schumer Takes Aim At The Kardashians In Hilarious ‘SNL’ Monologue

Amy Schumer hosted “Saturday Night Live” last night and judging by her performance, we’re betting she’ll be back.

The comedian opened up the show with a hilarious and spot-on monologue that focused on Hollywood’s lack of positive female role models. Her main subjects of criticism? The Kardashians.

“We have to be a role model for these little girls, because who do they have?” Schumer said. “All they have, literally, is the Kardashians. … A whole family who take the faces they were born with as a light suggestion?”

The actress also talked about meeting Bradley Cooper and gushed about how attractive he is in real life. “He’s the kind of hot where when he’s in front of you, you would just grab your ankles,” she told the crowd.

In typical Schumer fashion, she also made fun of herself and finished off by revealing her embarrassing top Google searches – ”Amy Schumer,” surprisingly, wasn’t one of them.

Amy Schumer Tackles Gun Control On ‘SNL’ With Mock PSA

Amy Schumer kicked off her “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut with a hilarious monologue. But the laughs didn’t stop there.

In what was probably one of the best sketches of the night, Schumer and the SNL cast tackled the issue of gun control with a darkly yet funny mock PSA titled simply “Guns.”

The clip presents a bunch of different scenarios – a girlfriend waiting for her boyfriend at dinner, a husband taking his pregnant wife to the hospital in a cab, two co-workers talking — while a voiceover says, ”Whatever you’re waiting for, whatever you face, whatever you’re looking for, there are things we all share. Love. Family. Connection. A sense of purpose. And also, guns.”

Yep. They went there.

The voiceover continues: “Guns are there in little moments and big ones. They unite us, comfort us, bring us joy and strength.” The scenarios play out with the addition of guns. Even the tiny newborn baby gets one. Scary stuff.

And then the kicker: “Guns: We’re here to stay.”

Hillary Clinton: I Learn Something About Myself From ‘SNL’ Impersonations

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is excited to appear on “Saturday Night Live” this week, but wouldn’t say whether she prefers Amy Poehler or Kate McKinnon‘s impersonations of her more.

While Clinton said that she was more familiar with Poehler’s impressions of her, she added that she looked forward to seeing more of McKinnon’s. She added that she was happy “SNL” executive producer Lorne Michaels had both women do impersonations of her on the show.

“They come at it from a slightly different perspective, and I learn something about myself watching them pretending to be me, so I’m looking forward to spending the time with Kate,” the presidential hopeful said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight on Friday. “I mean, I’m just thrilled that he’s got these amazing women doing these impersonations. I want to see how it goes.”

Clinton added that she loved the atmosphere of rehearsal, where one often has to fly by the seat of one’s pants.

“It is crazy. I mean, you show up and they’re still writing it and, you know, putting together the airplane in the air and they’re showing you what they want you to say and where they want you to stand and then they decide, no, they want to do it different,” she said. “I love it because it is almost like a creative act that you’re in the middle of, and you’re participating but you’re also watching and learning from it.”

Hillary Clinton Impersonates Donald Trump On ‘SNL’

WASHINGTON (AP) — Set ’em up, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and lend an ear to the troubles of a presidential candidate.

The front-runner for the Democratic nomination appeared on the season opener of “Saturday Night Live” as a wise bartender named Val who pours a drink or two for, ahem, Hillary Clinton (played by “SNL” regular Kate McKinnon).

Most political candidates play themselves on “SNL,” often for just a cameo in a sketch or to declare the show’s famous tag line, “Live from New York — it’s Saturday night!” Seldom do they go all-out thespian and play a character in a sketch.

“So, Hillary,” Clinton asks McKinnon, “what brings you here tonight?”

“Well, I needed to blow off some steam,” McKinnon says. “I’ve had a hard couple of 22 years.”

Asked what she does for a living, McKinnon says in imitation of Clinton’s earnest monotone: “First, I am a grandmother. Second, I am a human, entrusted with this one green Earth.”

“Oh,” Clinton says, “you’re a politician.”

And just who is Val? Clinton deadpans, “I’m just an ordinary citizen who believes the Keystone pipeline will destroy our environment.”

From there the skit poked gentle fun at Clinton’s slow opposition to the pipeline, her late-arriving support of gay marriage, and her inability to take a vacation. Notably absent was a crack about her private email server, the source of months of criticism from Republican lawmakers and candidates.

Speaking of Republican candidates, at one point Clinton — the real one — mimicked Donald Trump with a hoarse, throaty rendition of his dismissive statement, “Uh, you’re all losers.”

In a nod to the past, former cast member Darrell Hammond showed up on a barstool as Bill Clinton, who takes a look at Clinton and McKinnon and says, “My god, they’re multiplying!”

Overall, the skit was friendly toward Clinton and closed with the former first lady joining McKinnon in singing “Lean on Me.” Clinton had another role in the show — introducing the first musical number by host Miley Cyrus.

Republicans didn’t fare nearly as well as “SNL” began its 41st season. The opening sketch made fun of Trump and his wife, Melania, and a faux commercial pitched a pill that cures people of thinking they can be president — specifically low-polling GOP candidates Rick Santorum, Mike Huckabee and Jim Gilmore.

Clinton has struggled at times to show herself as warm and personable with a sense of humor, qualities that have been valued in modern campaigns driven by broadcast media and now social media. The former secretary of state has already appeared this year on talk shows hosted by Jimmy Fallon and Ellen DeGeneres.

Louis C.K.’s Shocking ‘SNL’ Monologue Compares Child Molesting To Eating Candy Bars

Comedian Louis C.K. really likes Mounds bars, perhaps a little too much.

On the Season 40 finale of “Saturday Night Live,” the comedian took his love for the candy bar to a new level by including it in a joke about child molesting.

C.K. tried to explain the risk child molesters take by saying that as much as he loves Mounds bars, he doesn’t love them enough to go to jail for them: “Because they do taste delicious, but they don’t taste as good as a young boy does — and shouldn’t — to a child molester.”

Even for a monologue that started out with jokes about “mild racism,” the audience’s shock was pretty evident. The monologue reportedly caused an uproar on social media, which the comedian seemed to anticipate.

During the opening, C.K. joked about how this was his “last show probably,” which Kate McKinnon also joked about in the promos leading up to the finale.

‘SNL’ Imagines How ‘Avengers: Age Of Ultron’ Ends

The latest “Avengers: Age of Ultron” trailer dropped earlier this week, but forget buying tickets — “Saturday Night Live” already gave away the ending. OK, just kidding. It probably won’t end exactly the same.

Eddie Murphy Apparently Declined Offer To Play Bill Cosby On ‘SNL 40’

Eddie Murphy’s first appearance on “Saturday Night Live” in 30 years was awkward and stilted, but according to Norm Macdonald, it could have been a whole lot different. Over the course of several tweets posted on Wednesday, Macdonald explained that there was, at one point, the idea to include Murphy in the “SNL 40” version of “Celebrity Jeopardy” as Bill Cosby.

As Macdonald wrote, he was disappointed “Celebrity Jeopardy” had become about celebrity impressions for the “SNL 40” special. But writer Steve Higgins thought having Murphy mimic Cosby would help tie it all together. Wrote Macdonald:

Macdonald relayed a bunch of other anecdotes about the week, including that Bill Murray almost didn’t make the show because of a golf tournament, before finishing out the Murphy story:

Without Murphy’s involvement, the sketch wound up happening with Kenan Thompson in the role of Cosby.

Murphy and Cosby memorably crossed paths before. During the 1987 concert film “Raw,” Murphy recalled how Cosby chastised him about using foul language in his stand-up routine.

Brooks Wheelan Says He’s ‘Fired’ From ‘SNL’

Brooks Wheelan, one of six featured players hired by “Saturday Night Live” before the start of the show’s 39th season, will not return for Season 40. Wheelan tweeted the news on Monday:

When contacted by HuffPost Entertainment to confirm Wheelan’s ouster, an NBC representative said that neither the network nor show comment on casting changes. That “SNL” would see some turnover before its 40th season is no surprise: Back in June, executive producer Lorne Michaels told Deadline.com that cast adjustments were forthcoming.

“We’re still in the middle of rebuilding,” Michaels said. “So there will be changes this year.”

Wheelan was a stand-up comic before being hired by “SNL.” The 27-year-old was initially brought onto the show as a writer, but he became the sixth and final addition to the cast before the 39th season began. (Colin Jost and Sasheer Zamata were added as featured players during this past season.)

“Each step of the way I thought it was pretty neat that I had gotten this far, so I didn’t put too much pressure on myself in that way,” Wheelan told the Bellevue Reporter about auditioning for “SNL” in an interview published earlier this year. “As far as the audition itself, they saw me perform in Montreal, then in L.A., and then I auditioned on the stage where they shoot the show in New York. It was all scary, but I tried to [minimize that].”

During his stint as a “Saturday Night Live” featured player, Wheelan made a couple of appearances on Weekend Update. He recalled those moment and some of his other favorite memories in a video published by NBC at the close of the season.

As ScreenCrush.com senior editor Mike Ryan pointed out, however, Wheelan’s last appearance on “SNL” might have foreshadowed his exit.
