Natalia Vodianova’s Naked Heart Foundation has teamed with online luxury fashion web site LuisaViaRoma for her latest installment of the annual Fund Fair.
Slated to take place in London at Roundhouse on Feb. 18, the event takes inspiration from filmmaker Federico Fellini’s “La Dolce Vita,” for its fifth year in the U.K. — and sixth overall.
The Fellini theme will be represented through an over-the-top set design at the English theater — complete with a Trevi Fountain. Guests, who in the past have included Hailey Baldwin and Taylor Swift, will try their hand at classic fair games like Hook-a-duck and bowling. Participating brands Louis Vuitton, Celine, Givenchy, Dior and more will have prizes on hand for the winners. There will additionally be live entertainment from Warner Music Group at the event.
Vodianova launched her foundation Naked Heart in 2004; since then, she has raised more than 40 million euros across the United States, U.K., Russia and France. The organization aims to support children with physical, mental and sensory disabilities through the initiation and support of various projects. Over the years, the Naked Heart Foundation has financed 18 projects across seven Russian cities, including a Family Support Centre in Nizhny Novgorod and summer and

BOSTON (AP) — A defamation lawsuit brought against Bill Cosby by three women who say he sexually abused them decades ago can move forward, a federal judge in Massachusetts ruled Friday, delivering a legal blow to the comedian as he attempts to defend himself against accusations of sexual assault by dozens of women.
The women claim in their lawsuit that Cosby’s representatives damaged their reputations by denying their allegations in sometimes disparaging language. Cosby’s lawyers had asked the judge to dismiss their suit, arguing that the remarks were personal opinions protected by the First Amendment and legal declarations made in his defense.
But in his ruling Friday, U.S. District Court Judge Mark Mastroianni rejected Cosby’s bid to dismiss the case before it ever goes to a jury.
The women — Tamara Green, Therese Serignese and Linda Traitz — have accused Cosby of drugging them and then having unwanted sexual contact with them.
The comments they claim were defamatory range from statements dismissing their accusations as “ridiculous claims” and “absurd fabrication” to longer remarks that sought to discredit the accusers.
“As the old saying goes, ‘consider the source,” ended one statement that touched on Traitz’s criminal and prison record.
In his ruling, Mastroianni rejects Cosby’s argument that the statements were legal declarations made in self-defense.
“The court recognizes that some jurisdictions do apply a version of the conditional self-defense privilege, which allows individuals, in certain circumstances, to publish defamatory responsive statements necessary to defend their reputation. However … such a privilege does not permit a defendant to knowingly publish false statements of fact,” the judge wrote in his 38-page ruling.
Telephone messages left for four attorneys who represent Cosby in the Massachusetts lawsuit were not immediately returned. Cosby has a house in Shelburne Falls, in western Massachusetts.
“As we’d expected and hoped, the judge rejected every one of Mr. Cosby’s attempts to throw the case out of court and allowed the case to proceed,” said Joseph Cammarata, an attorney who represents the three women.
“We will take Mr. Cosby’s deposition at the earliest possible moment. My clients look forward to moving the case forward and to restoring their good names and reputations.”
“Dateline NBC” aired a special Friday night in which 29 Cosby accusers were interviewed together about their allegations. Cosby has never been charged with a crime and he has denied the allegations.
Cosby was deposed Friday in a Los Angeles case against him. Lawyer Gloria Allred, the defendant’s lawyer in that case, said she would speak on the deposition Saturday in Boston. A third lawsuit in also pending in Los Angeles.
Court documents unsealed in July show Cosby admitting in 2005 to carrying on extramarital relationships with several women, including some who accuse him of sexual assault. The testimony added to the unsavory details that have all but wrecked his nice-guy reputation as TV’s Dr. Cliff Huxtable and made a mockery of his preaching about decency and personal responsibility.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris is asking for permission to toss out the now-notorious Sodomite Suppression Act, an outrageous ballot proposition that calls for the execution of gays with “bullets to the head” as well as 10 years in prison and permanent expulsion from California for anyone who advocates gay rights to minors.
In a statement released Wednesday, she wrote:
As Attorney General of California, it is my sworn duty to uphold the California and United States Constitutions and to protect the rights of all Californians. This proposal not only threatens public safety, it is patently unconstitutional, utterly reprehensible, and has no place in a civil society. Today, I am filing an action for declaratory relief with the Court seeking judicial authorization for relief from the duty to prepare and issue the title and summary for the “Sodomite Suppression Act.” If the Court does not grant this relief, my office will be forced to issue a title and summary for a proposal that seeks to legalize discrimination and vigilantism.
Because the bill’s backer, attorney Matt McLaughlin, paid the $ 200 filing fee by the February deadline, Harris is bound by law to prepare a title and summary of the order so that he can begin circulating it to obtain the 365,000 valid signatures needed for it to appear on next year’s ballot.
Some say the incident has exposed a serious flaw in the legal system. Joe Mathews, a fellow at the Center for Social Cohesion at Arizona State University, argued on California politics website Fox&Hounds that such instances attack the integrity of the ballot initiative process and that the attorney general should be allowed to invoke a “human rights exception.”
On Monday, activist Charlotte Laws shed more light on the absurdity that McLaughlin’s initiative would be circulated when she submitted the Intolerant Jackass Act to the state attorney general’s office, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. Her initiative, which she says she does not intend to circulate, would label the author of any ballot measures like McLaughlin’s an “intolerant jackass,” require them to attend at least three hours a month of sensitivity training for a year and demand they contribute $ 5,000 to an organization that supports gay rights.

Obviously lush flowers and a gorgeous venue are some of the elements of a beautiful wedding, but picture-perfect décor doesn’t ensure an epic party. Score a 10 out of 10 for overall experience by following these simple yet effective tips that will have your guests talking about your wedding for years to come.
1. Ask for song requests.
To ensure everyone is having a great time and dancing the night away, have your guests request a song via the invitation response, recommends Key Largo wedding planner Lynn D’Ascanio of Dasignerevents.com. “Give this list of songs to your DJ, along with the name of the person who requested each song. That way, if the dance floor starts to thin out, the DJ can play songs off of the request list.” This pretty much guarantees that the person who requested the song will get up and dance and encourage others to do so as well.
2. Don’t let your friends and family talk forever.
“Many fun events have been driven into the ground by deathly long speeches,” points out Lynn Jawitz, owner of Florisan Wedding and Event Design in NYC. To keep the party popping, ask your speech givers to keep their toasts short and sweet.
3. Remember to thank your guests.
Speaking of speeches, it’s important to let your guests knows how much you personally appreciate them coming. “It’s hard to believe how often this simple step is overlooked,” notes Jawitz. “Bite the bullet, make a speech (keep it short, of course) and just genuinely thank your guests for dropping their lives that day to share it with you.”
4. And keep them in the know.
According to D’Ascanio, the best weddings are the ones that are organized and follow a timeline. “When the events of the day unfold in a timely manner, and the bridal party and guests alike are not left standing around wondering what’s next or where they should go or what they should be doing, the entire day seems flawless.”
5. Add in an element of surprise.
Who doesn’t love a special surprise at a wedding? “You could hire a group of singers or dancers disguised as wait staff to break out into song or dance during dinner,” suggests D’Ascanio. Or you and the groom could perform a practiced dance routine yourselves for the first dance, offers Greg Jenkins, founder of Bravo Productions. “A ‘wow’ factor can be memorable and will ensure your guests have a blast.”
6. Opt for a short ceremony.
If possible, try to keep your ceremony simple and short in length. “A long, drawn-out ceremony takes away that guest energy level at the onset, and sometimes it cannot be recovered for the reception,” warns Jenkins.
7. Give birthday shout outs.
Does your BFF have a birthday on the same day as your big day? Or is it his parents’ anniversary too? “Have your MC acknowledge any birthdays and/or anniversaries with a dedicated song during the reception,” advises Daniela Grafman, wedding & special events coordinator at Vision Entertainment Group LLC. People love attention. Plus, it’s just a sweet gesture.
8. Hire a great band or DJ.
After all, they can, in fact, make or break a party. Florida wedding planner Aviva Samuels of Kiss The Planner, recommends looking for a high energy performer, while being careful not to choose an annoying personality to be your MC. “Great vocals, great dance moves and great spunk will have everyone up on their feet until it’s time to go home. Seamless song transitions and the ability to read the crowd when they want to hear more of the same sound or a desire to switch to a different sound is where a DJ’s talent also comes into play.”
9. Provide transportation.
If you’re hosting a destination wedding or your wedding is in a remote location, be sure to provide transportation for guests from their hotel to your wedding and back, says Lauren Randolph, founder of My Hotel Wedding. “This way people don’t have to worry about driving home drunk, which guarantees that they can party harder.”
10. Allow your guests plenty of free time.
This is particularly important if you have a destination wedding or a bunch of guests in from out of town, says professional wedding planner Sandy Malone of Weddings in Vieques. “Back to back activities after a long trip will run them into the ground. Let them have some time and space to explore and they’ll be refreshed and excited at all of your events.” We concur.
