Kanye West and his team are scoffing at claims his latest Yeezy shoe release didn’t sell out because of his politics … because sales were actually super strong. West dropped his Yeezy Mauve 700 shoe Saturday, and the product didn’t sell out…
There’s never been more talk of which designers are coming (Rihanna, Tom Ford), going (Altuzarra, Thom Browne, Tommy Hilfiger) and staying (Calvin Klein, Marc Jacobs) to, from and in New York Fashion Week than there has been for the spring 2018 season. Still, there remains another major name affiliated with NYFW whose show destination remains unspoken for: What will Kanye do?
Sources say Kanye West is in talks with the CFDA to find a slot on the spring calendar for his Adidas-affiliated Yeezy collection, though a representative for the brand would not confirm the show’s location or any additional details. The CFDA declined to comment and the official fashion week calendar has yet to be released.
Last season, West initially took a slot on the calendar without consulting the CFDA, resulting in a temporary dustup when he unwittingly took a time slot that already belonged to Marchesa designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig. Ultimately, the issue was resolved when West moved his show by two hours to avoid any conflicts.
If West does stay in town, it will be his sixth Yeezy collection shown in New York, which will surely be one of the most high-profile events on the schedule. His past productions
Kanye West‘s Yeezy Season 2 fashion line was formally introduced to the world via a silent film that not only showed off the Chicago superstar’s creative vision, but also the work that goes on behind the scenes. Although the line has been teased since last month, the film gives fans a first peek at the exclusive creations.
The silent film was posted on the recently ressurected Yeezy.Supply site, and it is exactly what one could expect from a Kanye West production. The lack of sound makes the images flashing on screen compelling. The film shows the workers furiously stitching and putting together the line under West’s stern supervision.
There’s no forwarding or rewinding of the film, so once you hit up the page you have to commit.

Kanye West’s show, a last-minute addition to New York Fashion Week on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at noon, is causing headaches for at least one fashion designer. Anne Bowen, who planned to launch her new streetwear collection, Nomad VII by Anne Bowen, at the exact same time, is up in arms and scrambling to reschedule.
Another headache: Naeem Khan is also scheduled to show in Kanye’s new time slot.
Bowen told WWD: “We have been prepping for a year for this at considerable financial, labor- and commitment-cost to our company. Our show date has been scheduled for months and has been on the Fashion Calendar for weeks. We went through all the proper channels to make this a reality. And just yesterday we learned that Kanye West is having a show at the same time on the same date as ours.”
“Kanye knows he is a media sensation and it is just not ethical to do this. It’s like we are David and he is Goliath. We have put our heart and soul into our show, and should not be stepped on like this,” continued Bowen.
Consequently, Bowen said she has to move her show date to Thursday, Sept. 17 at 12:30 at the same
The boots are set to be available in four colors.
This afternoon, after Kanye West unveiled his new Adidas collaboration at New York Fashion Week, André Leon Talley sat down with the musician turned designer and his wife, Kim Kardashian West. So what’s it like to go viral? “I feel like a man,” West said. “I feel like I have blood in my veins.”

Yeezy came through sporting his new adidas Yeezy 3s and showing off his bae, who recently seen by the Internets in a raunchy, NSFW fashion spread for LOVE magazine. Also spotted were Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monae, Nipsey Hussle, Childish Gambino, Big Sean and many more.

Someone didn’t get Ibn Jasper the memo about keeping Kanye West’s adidas Yeezy 3 sneaker under wraps until New York Fashion Week. Yeezy’s personal barber has revealed easily one of the most talked about sneakers of 2015. But are they worth the hype?
Jasper snapped some images of the shoe and shared it with his followers on Instagram. Which means the pics have gone viral.
From what we can tell, it’s pretty much the same shoe that we saw in leaks back in November. It also sports adidas’ top of the line Boost cushioning tech and clearly takes aesthetic cues from those Visvims you always see West rocking. Or, these could be a throwaway sample being put out there to throw us off.
